What people are saying:

Nakamiji commercial street is one of the oldest commercial streets in Japan. After Ieyasu Tokugawa opened the Edo Bakufu (Japanese feudal government headed by a Shogun), the Edo population increased, and the number of visitors to Asakusa Ji Temple increased. After that, residents who were in charge of cleaning in the Asakusa Ji Temple were given the privilege of operating in the inn and the pilgrimage road. This is the beginning of the commercial street. The commercial street extends from the Thunder Gate to the main site of Asakusa Temple, about 250 meters in length, and is covered with transparent roofs across the block, making it free from the wind and rain, and is lined with more than 50 small shops painted with scarlet facade, selling sacred goods, Edo toys, dancing clothes, Snacks and other local products, as well as some ordinary tourist souvenirs. Many of these shops are said to be century-old shops, long known. Here many small shops sell Asakusa's "human form burning", is the most famous asakusa snacks. At noon, during the break from visiting Asakusa Temple, we visited Nakamise Commercial Street and had lunch here. We chose a noodle shop, which, like most Japanese restaurants, is cramped and crowded. It may be the tourist area, the waiter has Chinese, but feel that the service is worse than the Japanese stores in the city. The shop's chopsticks are very interesting, the handle has two small wear, just can be mounted on the bowl on the edge of the bowl not easy to slip into the bowl, fully reflects the Japanese on the service of the care.
