What people are saying:

Quite a nice place to walk around. Lots of nice food and snacks. Chanced upon this beef bowl along the street, and honestly it was the best beef bowl I have ever had. Would come back here just for the beef bowl!

    Full of Japanese character

A great place to visit and get a sea food meal. You can see fish being sold or simply look for a meal. Can be very busy at times.

Additional Information

Tsukiji Fish Market was the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. It was also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kind. Located near the waterfront in Tokyo’s Chuo ward, the wholesale market was famous for the quantity and variety of products moving through on a daily basis. Due to space constraints, there was a long standing desire to move the market’s wholesale operations to a different location, which was finally accomplished in late 2018. Despite no longer having the same level of activity, Tsukiji Fish Market is still immensely popular as the many retail shops and restaurants remain. Visitors will often wait in long lines for the chance to sample exquisitely fresh seafood.
