It is said that in ancient times, a man went up to Mount Emei to seek immortals, and came here, and met a wood-cut farmer and said to him, "Free and idle is immortal, why should you go up to Mount Lu?" and disappeared. Later, the monk built a temple here, named "Yuxian Temple".
Yuxian Temple was founded during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty. There is a beautiful folk legend about the name of Yuxian Temple. It is said that in ancient times, a man went to Mount Emei to seek immortals, and came here, and met a wood-cut farmer and said to him, "Free and idle is immortal, why should you go up to the mountain." He said, and disappeared. This person knew that he had met a fairy, and returned to the mountain with satisfaction. Later, the monk built a temple here, named "Yuxian Temple". You can rest here and experience the philosophy of "freedom is immortal".

Yuxian Temple introduction: Yuxian Temple is located at the waist of the longevity slope, named after the temple "Yuxian Cave". The first year of Qing Tongzhi (1862) was built, which is a wooden structure and is still intact. The scale of the temple is small, but the environment is beautiful. The temple is thousands of feet high and the rock is deep on the right. The world has repeatedly met the gods and gave advice, and it was once a place where the famous hermit Dou Yi lived in seclusion.
