Tumen Port is a "century-old port" of Jilin Province that boasts a long history. It is a passenger and cargo transportation port in China divided into railway and highway terminals. From the railway terminals, one can directly access the Rajin Port and Chongjin Port of DPRK via rail, as well as the Russian Far East via the Tumangang Station of DPRK. It is the main channel that connects Jilin Province to the Russian Far East. The highway terminal is the second-largest land terminal open to DPRK approved by the state to allow the passage of passengers and goods from a third country. In 1945, a system was established to allow relatives living along the borders of the two sides to make cross-border visits, and barter trade was carried out.
