Stunning national forest, especially up near Stanley, Galena Summit, and Redfish Lake and vicinity. Just skip past Ketchum and hold on to your wallet
The scenic byway from Kechum to Boise goes through Sawtooth. It is very interesting and beautiful. The mountains are worthy of the name. The byway goes along a creek/river, so there are tons of places...
Plan on a day to explore this area and wait until the summer months to explore. Make sure to have Ketchum/Hailey as your base and work upwards.
Spectacular areas - especially on the way up to Stanley on Hwy 93. Lovely area, relaxing, and great hiking, as well as many hot springs to try!
Get away from it all- but still lots of people. Lovely forest and very popular. It was very hard to find secluded camping.
Excellent natural scenery
