The church is not very big, the exterior is average, a sacred church
The Akdamar church is located on Akdamar Island, three kilometers from the shore of Lake Van, next to Armenia. This is an Armenian church. It was built by the Artzruni family of Armenia in the tenth century. Before the Armenians were expelled , Here has always been an important religious site. The exquisite reliefs on the exterior of the church tell stories from the "Bible", among which the stories of Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit are the most familiar to everyone. There are also some faded murals inside the church.
The Church of the Holy Cross built by the Armenian Artzruni family in the area of Lake Van. The outer wall of the church has fine reliefs, and there are still several frescoes in the interior.
