Vancouver Top 10 in Beautiful Beaches

My favourite beach spot in Van. When the tide is all the way out, it feels like you have miles to walk to the water, but thats always my favourite part.

A very popular beach of Vancouver, Spanish banks has great views of North Vancouver and is larger than Kits beach. The tide goes out quite far so you have to walk a while to get to the water but that makes it a great place for playing and building sand castles.

Whether you’re a beach bum or BBQ boss, Spanish Banks in the Kitsilano neighbourhood is the ideal spot to soak up the rays during the dog days of summer. Offering unrivalled views of the coastal mountains across the water, this long stretch of sandy beach is lined with picnic benches where, in the summer months, Vancouverites go to enjoy a day at the beach among family and friends. There are shaded picnic spots but it’s best to bring a beach umbrella and plenty of sunblock if you’re to sit in the sand.

Beaches for the family, beaches for pets, and beaches for the nudist. Take your pick! Be sure to check out low-tide days when you can take a long walk out (30 minutes) to the water's edge on hard packed sand.

This is a perfect place for watching the sunset. Beautiful views. Great for some long exposure shots as well. We saw the Firewrorks on August 3rd from here. Nice view, not too crowded as compared to the English Bay. During early morning the tide is so low that we saw people walking in what seemed like middle of the ocean with the massive ships in touching distance. That wasn't the case of course but it is a sea change in how this area looks with low tide and during the evening when it seems like a proper beach. You can also take a hike into the Pacific Spirit Regional Park on the opposite side and there's lots of parking available.
