We picked the best restaurant for our last night in Venice. It was so romantic with the gondolas floating by and the candles flickering on the table. The service was incredible and very attentive. The food was outstanding and there is nothing better than eating fresh, homemade seafood dishes overlooking the canal on a warm summer night. There was even a talented opera singer on the other side of the canal that just made the dinner even more romantic and pleasant. The only downside was that we were really looking forward to a bite of quality tiramisu and they were fresh out. Do not miss this romantic gem in Venice for dinner tonight. I would go all the way back again just for another perfect dinner anytime.
We stayed in their hotel ( amadeus ) and thus sauntered into Sivoli for a formal dinner and it turned out to be a dinner to savour. Their signature sphagetti laced with cute roman tomatoes with extra cheese and paired with Grappa and Grilled Chicken Parmesan are treat par excellence. I asked for the chef to compliment and he came by to acknowledge our thanks. Their Tiramasu is excellante. Try them and am sure you will love them.
Although Venice is full of restaurants, my wife and I were trying to find some place classy without having to walk or travel too far. Ristorante Sivoli was a short walk from our hotel (The Carnival Palace) and we sort of stumbled on it by accident. So here are the pros about this restaurant: the food is phenomenal, the service is very professional, the entertainment is great. Here are the cons: it's slightly on the pricey side, the menu doesn't have too much to offer, the service is kind of slow. Additionally, I wanted to sit facing the entertainment but the waiter was semi - appalled to see that I'd pick the entertainment view over the view of the canal. Maybe some people have seen enough of the canal during their time in Venice (surprising, I know)...
When we asked if we could have a few moments between ordering a starter and the main meal the waiter got huffy and said there were other people waiting for the table. We had booked a table, arrived at the correct time, and there was no one else waiting. Left after having drinks, then a starter - no apologies from either the snotty waiter or the Management. Definitely don't go there!
