The customs building in Venice also needs to travel through the river. This building is also a good location to visit. The customs building also has a variety of styles. You can experience some very simple things in this place. It is also very interesting.
The Venetian Customs House is a very impressive building, which is now mainly responsible for customs declaration and taxation of ships.
The Punta della Dogana (Customs House-during merchandise trade) is located on the land between the Grand Canal and the larger Canal. The Art Museum is now in the customs building built in the 17th century. The building is difficult to describe, especially when compared with the nearby Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ankang. There is also a large sculpture here. The sculpture shows two Atlas slaves holding a golden ball with Benoni on top of the golden ball. The sculpture of wealth rotates in the wind. The things in the art museum are too modern for me.
The Customs House in Venice stands beside the Grand Canal. The white structure looks very bright, but it shouldn’t be visited inside. There is also the Maritime Museum next to it.
Punta Della Dogana is definitely one of the top 10 must-see in Venice. This Museum which at least its concrete interiors rehabilitated by Tadao Ando will impress you, features very interesting installations as well as very large paintings. Too bad the other same-style museum Palazzo Grassi was closed at the moment. Don't miss to go for free around the building, on the fondamenta to reach the very culminant point of the triangle and explore breathtaking panoramic view of Venice and Giudecca at the same time.
This museum has just been restored by Pinault Foundation and hosts contemporary art pieces and exibitions.. The building is fantastic itself, a very balanced mix of wood, glass and steel. From it you could have a gorgeous view of Venice.
