About Rialto Markets

The Rialto Market is known both as a retail and as a wholesale market. Warehouses were built, including the famous Fondaco dei Tedeschi on the other side of the bridge. Shops selling luxury goods, banks and insurance agencies appeared and the city's tax offices were located in the area. The city's abattoir was also in the Rialto. Most of the buildings in the Rialto were destroyed in a fire in 1514. The sole survivor of the fire was the church San Giacomo di Rialto. The rest of the area was gradually rebuilt.

There are hundreds of bridges in Venice, of which the Rialto Bridge is the most famous one. It was built in the 12th century as a wooden bridge. In the 15th century, it was replaced by a stone bridge. Shops, vendors, restaurants and tourists on both sides of the bridge are numerous.

The Rialto market is not on either side of the Rialto Bridge, but north along the canal. There are many boats moored near a wharf near the river. There are mainly fish markets and processed cooked food. Most of the diners are standing to eat. There are also many small shops around the market, selling some Venetian souvenirs, such as Gondola fridge stickers, as well as mask fridge stickers.

There is a very beautiful color, round food, do not know what it is, asked to know is bread. There's also a local pizza roll, which tastes good. There are all kinds of spaghetti. It's also a paradise for eating.

The Rialto market is close to the Rialto Bridge, where fruits, vegetables and fish can be bought. The price is a bit expensive, but the location is convenient and saves time. This is a must-see place. The best time to visit is in the morning. To get to the market, you can take the No. 1 Water Bus.

Although the language is not clear, we actually bought fruits in this market, and we admire ourselves very much. The market is not very big. In fact, it is composed of small booths one by one. Tourists are still buying a lot.
