This is a truly magnificent medieval castle, situated on a wide wall, guarding the Adig River on the current overpass. There are all kinds of odds and ends in it. They are all Verona's past. The most famous are two very beautiful life-size stone statues, armoured Knights riding on horseback.
The Old Castle Museum is a wonderful five-hour train ride through Verona.
The Castle Museum of Art is located on the top of the hill in the old city. It was rebuilt from a monastery. The collection was donated by 19th century traveler Baron Lycklama. The items on display are all-inclusive, with musical instruments from all over the world, mostly drums, pianos and flutes.
