The Liebenberg Monument is located on the University Ring opposite the University of Vienna. It was built in 1890 and was created in memory of Johann Andreas von Liebenberg. He served as the mayor of Vienna from 1680 to 1683, and previously made great contributions to fighting the plague in the city. During the second siege of Vienna in 1683, helped the besieged citizens who stayed behind. The monument is a 9-meter-high obelisk. On the front steps there is a bronze lion. The bronze angels on both sides hold a gold-plated Liebenberg portrait medal in both hands. The obelisk is crowned by a gilded statue of the goddess of victory Victoria.
