Wanaka (Wanaka) is a lakeside town in Lake Wanaka, South Island, New Zealand. There are many cafes, restaurants and interesting shops. In retrospect of this trip, my wife said that she had visited so many cities in South Island, and if she wanted to choose the city where she wanted to settle most, it would be Vanaka. On the one hand, although there are many restaurants and shops, they are not as bustling as Queens Town. On the other hand, the local people have a strong sense of life. They stay here for a short time and see a park holding a community-based activity, which is a bit like a garden party. I also saw the family dressed formally to dinner, full of strong breath of life. In short, you are in Vanaca, both tourists and local residents seem to naturally integrate into this beautiful community, quiet and comfortable.
Ten years ago, Queen's Town was not well known to the Chinese. It was a popular place for local people to spend their holidays. Now Queens Town, especially during the big holidays in our country, is full of Chinese people. The local people gradually transfer their resort to Wanaka Town, which is about an hour's drive away from Queens Town. Lake Vanaka here is more pure than Lake Vakatip. If the sun is shining, the scenery will be very beautiful. The famous New Zealand windscape crooked neck tree, on the lakeside, but there are many similar trees, can not find which is the true face. When it first came in 2013, the town was small, but it was a city for South Island to revisit after four years. Supermarkets, restaurants, shops are all available, along the lake is very busy, and more and more shops provide Chinese services.
The tour guide told us that this beautiful lake is called Lake Wanaka. It is the fourth largest lake in New Zealand. It is more than 300 meters deep. Snow Mountain left a beautiful reflection on the calm lake. After a long drive along the lakeside highway, we temporarily said goodbye to Lake Vanaka and came to Lake Hawea, a sister lake, which corresponds to it. They are located on both sides of the road and are two sister lakes that are not connected with each other. Both lakes are glacial barrier lakes. Most of the lake water comes from melting snow and glaciers. The lake water appears particularly blue in the high mountains. Like other inland lakes on the South Island, it is said that Lake Hawiya and Lake Vanaka were artificially excavated by Maori under the leadership of their great Chief Tilakehaotu. The chieftain had a magical digging stick that could crush all the rocks to pieces, while the sand and stones dug out piled up into nearby hills. The tour guide stopped at a highland viewing platform near Lake Hawaii. Let's get off and take a picture for ten minutes. Standing on this high ground, the lake reflects the figure of snow mountain. The road under foot stretches out along the lakeside, and the scenery is very beautiful. Under the repeated urging of the tour guide and the team, we reluctantly bid farewell to Lake Hawaii and went on to the town of Wanaka. On the bus, the tour guide said that many wealthy people in Wanaka town wanted to live and work here in order to avoid the noise of Queen Town. He used a "very delicate" comment, and later we felt the same way when we visited it. It was really a delicate town. There are trees blooming in front of and behind every door. Besides the small rivers, there are also verdant and colorful blossoms on both sides of the neat and clean streets. Walking is the scenery, the scenery is moving, step by step has the scenery, everywhere beautiful scenery. In fact, afterwards, it seems that all the towns in New Zealand are exquisite, but their own exquisite characteristics are different. Instead of going straight to the lake, we went straight to a high ground in the town. A monument stands on this high ground. Although the meaning of landmark buildings is unknown, accompanied by flowers blooming around the high ground, we can see the panorama of Lake Wanaka as well as the panorama of the town of Wanaka. Flowering cherry trees on verdant lawn slopes are plump and charming, with neat streets, scattered houses, mirror-like lakes and surrounding mountains. I can't imagine how God could arrange such a harmonious natural landscape and urban architecture in this lake and mountain scenery, and how he could arrange them in such harmony before our eyes. If you want to understand what is life "livable" place, you will have some experience here.
The Wanaka town is surrounded by mountains. It is 3033 metres high and 548 metres low. With children, of course, it climbs low. Many local people climb mountains with dogs and greetings when they meet. Several of them are very enthusiastic. When they see our family of three, they offer to take pictures for us. It's very difficult. Despite being more than 500 meters above sea level, when the sun shines all the way, the scenery is invincible. Albert town, Clutha river, Hawea lake, Wanaka lake and Wanaka town are covered with golden light, surrounded by snow mountains, not like fairyland, comparable to the God realm. The Mt. Iron Ring Line is 4.5 kilometers. It usually takes 1.5 hours. We take 2.5 hours with our children.
On the way to Queen Town, I hurried past Wanaka Town. The town is beautiful and quiet, with lakes and mountains similar to Switzerland in Europe. Large areas of green vegetation, all kinds of exotic flowers and plants, make the whole town beautiful and elegant fashion.
Wanaka Town is the second largest town in the whole Queen Town area. It is adjacent to Lake Wanaka, and its commerce is relatively developed. There are many tourist resources around it. There are no high-end hotels here, but the Village hotels are well equipped and very comfortable. I spent three days in Naka Town. Every day, I visited nearly ten scenic spots around it. It was very convenient and comfortable.
Vanaka is a charming town on New Zealand's South Island, second only to Queen Town. Its quiet and serene Lake attracts adults and children. All kinds of restaurants and shops can meet different needs. Blue cod chips taste great. Wool products stores are rich in varieties and will certainly satisfy the shopping desire. A variety of outdoor sports have also attracted many young people.
The happiest day. Yin and Yang went to Wanaka View Motel recommended by others, and found that the original scenery here is excellent, living in room Chalet 1, with a panoramic view. After a 3-minute walk from motel to the supermarket, we bought dinner in the supermarket and finally had a delicious meal. The children put all their attention on feeding birds and ducks. This is the place I like best along the way.
Not far from Queens Town, the town center is very busy, there are many restaurants, weekend business hours are late, 2,3 kilometers out of the quiet, almost no one in the park. By the lake you can see the darling of photography, the most beautiful and lonely tree growing in the lake.
South Island is a famous tourist attraction, a must-see place for tourists. This is a small town with many tourists. Hotels are more expensive, and they should be booked in advance, otherwise they cannot be booked. There are many restaurants and the price is not cheap. The scenery here is very good. Lake Wanaka is very beautiful.
