On this one week trip to DC, we have visited three Brookland restaurants and been pleasantly surprised every time. Our table ordered a burger and fries, Austin Tx style tacos, and a kale &amp; cranberry salad with a side of fried plantains. We also ordered drinks from the bar. Our food was served by a very friendly young lady and in a perfectly timed manner. All three plates were excellent and deserve a better review. All in all, I challenge anyone to eat this quality of food in DC for under $20 per person.

Smith Public Trust

As a Chinese restaurant, this restaurant is still quite popular in the local area, and it is a local dish. Fried shrimp, braised pork, scallion noodles and other dishes are all authentic. So Chinese tourists and Chinese are mostly.

Traditional Italian restaurant, the meat sauce Italian macaroni tastes good, much better than eating powder in China, roast chicken is also very good, but it looks like an American style, put some hot and sour sauce is delicious.

It&rsquo;s not so easy to have a good Northwestern dish in the United States, because the shops are not particularly large and maybe New York is better, and Washington is only two or three. The location of this store is not so good, but there are still many people driving here, mainly because the dishes here are delicious. The price is reasonable, although not cheap.

It&rsquo;s really great here, it&rsquo;s called Gravitas, the atmosphere here is really superb, and it&rsquo;s especially suitable for parties. My friend proposed here and made a very careful arrangement.

I am not in the Brookland neighborhood too often, but I do get tired of the crowded, loud bars and restaurants of NW DC and sometimes go far afield looking for a quiet place with good food, and found it at Smith Public Trust. Much of their menu is small-to-medium sized (not a lot of big mains), which is fine with me.. I just order 2 or 3 things. The space is homey, quirkily decorated, and there&#39;s a number of small TVs above the bar (usually showing sports) and a big TV (which was showing the old He-man movie the first time I went). So far, I&#39;ve had the hamburger (quite good), the nachos w/ pork (amazing), the pork belly banh-mi (quite good), the duck spring rolls (decent), and churros (not bad, kind of cake-y). One of the tables features two big easy chairs, which me and my girlfriend take advantage of when they are open.

Earlier this year my friends and I went to this pub after having eaten out in the Brookland area for the first time. I can&#39;t say much for the food because we just stopped off there for an after dinner drink. What struck me about this pub is that it seems the purpose of the pub is to appeal to all kinds of people. It had to be the most diverse pub scene I have ever witnessed. Black, white, man, woman, older, younger, hip, staid, etc. I really hope this place flourishes because these are the types of places we need where people who aren&#39;t dumb or closed-minded and head out and share ideas and then change the world. They have a fantastic selection of beers available and the bar staff are friendly. I can say we did have some really tasty dessert churros. That is my we-are-the-world review of Smith Public Trust. It is fun. Go do it.

am not in this neighborhood too often, and decided to venture here to see what is available. Popped into this place for a drink and something to eat on a Saturday night. The place is funky, with graffiti mural like on the walls. Friendly service, good vibe, definitely get crowded just before the band started playing at 7 pm. What is even more surprising is that the kitchen turned out good food. I never expect much from a bar, but this one was good. I had a burger, and it was real medium rare, and the sweet potatoes fries was great, The kale salad was good and generous portion. My vegetarian friend had a Portobello Mushrooms Sliders, he said it was great, another buddy had the braised short ribs. All was good. Definitely be back in the future. OH! One thing, no dessert according to the server, even though the menu had churros on it.
