Not only is it a great history class in Waterville, but the park is beautiful and well-preserved. This bridge is very special to me because my mother used to cross the bridge every day and worked at the old telephone exchange in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
If you take a tour of the Ring of Kerry from Killarney, Waterville is a middle point where you can rest, eat, etc. The small village is near the sea and facing the Atlantic Ocean. The scenery is good, but there are fewer shops, Not as popular as Sneem, another small town on the Ring of Kerry.
