Foguang Temple is located on a hillside surrounded by small mountains on three sides of the east, south and north, and open to the west. The main axis of the temple is east-west, and it is treated into three platforms according to the terrain. There are more than 120 temples, halls, buildings and pavilions in the temple. Seven of its Middle East halls are Tang Dynasty buildings. Seven of Wenshu Temple, for the Jin Dynasty buildings, the rest are Ming and Qing period buildings.
Located 55 kilometers east of Taihuai Town, the Foguang Mountain is founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty Xiaowen Emperor period (471 499). The Tang and Tang reached a great height, famous at home and abroad, and known as "Asian Buddha Light". Tang Wuzong died and the monastery was destroyed. Tang Xuanzong Dazhong 11 years (857) rebuilt the Daxiong Pavilion. Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing generations have been repaired. The temple of Buddha Guang is grand and the layout is comfortable. The whole temple is composed of three courtyards. In addition to Tang Jian Daxiong Palace, there are Wenshu Palace, Temple of Heavenly Kings, Temple of Kalan Palace, Wanshan Hall, Xiangfeng Huayu Building, Ancestor Pagoda, Shijing Building, etc., all masterpieces in ancient Chinese architecture. The Buddha stage in the Daxiong Palace is full of 35 statues of the Tang Dynasty. The center is the Sakya, Maitreya, Mitada Buddha and Wenshu, Puxian Bodhisattva, standing on both sides of the guarding King Kong. The back of the central Buddha seat and other places have Buddhist-themed murals in the Tang Dynasty, the only early murals in China's existing wooden buildings. Although the temple was built 75 years later than the temple of Nanchan Temple, the value of architectural art is higher than the latter.
One of the only surviving Tang Dynasty buildings in China, a national treasure!
