Wuzhishan is a county-level city under the administration of Hainan Province. It is named after Wuzhi Mountain (“Five-Finger Mountain”), the highest mountain on Hainan Island. Wuzhishan is the urban and transportation hub of central Hainan Island and is where the ethnic minorities of central Hainan live. Here you will find natural and cultural attractions like Wuzhi (“Five-Finger”) Mountain, Atuoling Provincial Forest Park, and the Qiongya Column Command Center with its sightseeing garden.
Wuzhishan Tropical Rainforest is situated next to Wuzhi Mountain near the village of Shuiman. The area is surrounded by thick tropical rainforest and is traversed by the Shuiman River, which runs through a number of traditional Li villages. Visitors can walk through the forest to a viewing platform that offers spectacular views of Wuzhi Mountain.
Located in the Wuzhishan Mountain Red Crayon Cultural Tourism Scenic Spot, the Red Crayon Rafting is a boutique tourism project promoted by Wuzhishan City. Rafting was named after the rock along the way washed by the mountain springs and rainwater to form a reddish yellow color. The rocky walls of the crayon are steep and strange, and the river has diverse rocky beaches and rapids, with a virgin tropical rainforest on the banks and hilltop waterfalls often falling from the air.
The Wuzhishan National Nature Reserve is a great place to experience climbing Wuzhi (Five Finger) Mountain. The scenic area is full of pristine tropical rainforests, with lush, verdant greenery abounding. At 1,876 meters, Wuzhishan measures more than three hundred meters taller than Taishan Mountain. The lush tropical rainforest makes this place a natural oxygen bar. There are also many mountain springs and lakes to be found in these mountains. The varied scenic landscapes of mountains and rivers complement each other beautifully. Climbing high and looking far into the distance offers visitors an unparalleled and unique experience.
The Grand Canyon Drifting in the Five-Finger Mountain is a featured tourism project. There are bonsais in the river, and forest on the banks, as well as thrilling rapids and the quiet subdued water area. It is well recognized by the National Tourism Administration as an ideal place for drifting and adventure in China.
