Reasons to Recommend: The Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses, also known as the Terracotta Army, is located about 1.5 kilometers east of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and forms part of the extensive necropolis. There were more than a thousand terracotta soldiers unearthed here, each with a different facial expression. Standing before the massive underground army, you will feel the extraordinary might of the Qin Emperor that enabled him to unify six warring states two thousand years ago. The Qin Emperor Ying Zheng began building the mausoleum for himself at the age of 13. Nearly 720000 men and 38 years were required to complete this vast project.

The museum houses bronze artifacts from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, gold and silver artifacts of the Han and Tang dynasties, and Tang dynasty murals, of which a large portion of them are treasures of the Han and Tang period. The Beast-Head-Shaped Agate Cup, the Silver Pot with Design of A Horse Dancing and Holding A Cup in Its Mouth, and the “Huang Hou Zhi Xi” are cultural artifacts that the country has prohibited from leaving the country and can only be seen in the Shaanxi History Museum.
Reasons to Recommend: Xi'an Beilin Museum is located near Wenchang Gate. The museum contains a forest of stone monuments, stone carvings, etc. Among them, the forest of stone monuments is composed of monuments and epitaphs from past dynasties. It is the highlight of the museum. In the Beilin Museum, you can admire inscriptions and epitaphs of different dynasties. The collection of inscriptions and epitaphs spans over 2,000 years.
Reasons to Recommend: The Banpo Museum was built on the Banpo archaeological site located just east of Xi’an in the Yellow River Valley. The Banpo archaeological site has some 6,000 years of history, holding the remains of Neolithic settlements. Banpo is considered to have been a matriarchal society. Inside the Banpo Museum visitors can discover scenes reproducing daily life of ancient tribes. You can also learn about their unique system of entombment and their painted pottery. The main exhibition hall’s theme is named “The Ancient Capital Xi'an”. Visitors can learn all about Xi’an’s thousand-year history and subsequent development. The exhibits in the museum show the progression of the development of Xi’an City from the Zhou Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There is also a model of Xi’an City throughout various dynastic periods that allows you to see the scale, layout and living conditions of the city’s distant past.
Reasons to Recommend: The Shaanxi Natural History Museum is located on the roundabout around the TV Tower in Chang'an South Road in Xi'an, including the Natural Exhibition Hall, the Science and Technology Exhibition Hall, the Curtain Theater, the Outdoor Exhibition Area, and the Temporary Exhibition. Its Natural Exhibition Hall and Science and Technology Exhibition Hall are divided into north and south sides by the Shaanxi TV Tower. The Science and Technology Exhibition Hall has a glass sphere, while the Natural Exhibition Hall has a crescent shape. The two represent "Sun" and "Moon".
Reasons to Recommend: The museum was built on the site of the "West Market" in Chang'an City, Tang Dynasty. West Market was the international market and entertainment center at that time. Through the glass floor in the hall on the first floor of the museum, you can see the foundations, roads, and gutters of the West Market. It is composed with a semi-underground structure. This is an extensive historical center with the theme of showing the history and culture of the Daming Palace in the Tang Dynasty. The presentation corridors, the Palace of the Thousand Palaces, the Rising Sun,the kingdom of the world, and the Watching Splendid Halls showed the social relics uncovered from the site of the Daming Palace, related materials, machines, utensils, and so on utilized by Datang Royal.
Reasons to Recommend: The Hanguang Gate Relic Site Museum is located at the Hanguang Gate section of the City Wall of Nanjing, and houses the relic site of the Chang'an City walls from the Tang Dynasty. Honglu Temple, where foreign guests were received during the Tang Dynasty, is also located at Hanguang Gate. The museum is divided into three parts: the East Hall, Central Hall and West Hall. The site of the Tang Dynasty Hanguang Gate in the East Hall draws imaginings of the grandeur and majesty of time past.
