About Muslim Quarter
Huimin Street is an old Muslim neighborhood with a history dating back centuries ago. It has a distinct Muslim culture and a vibrant food culture, making it a paradise for food lovers. Huimin Street is not just a single street. It is a collective name for the whole Muslim District. It consists of Beiyuan Gate, North Guangji Street, Xiyangshi and Dapiyuan Street. It is also known as “Muslim Quarter” and “Fang Shang”. The district also houses a number of old local restaurants: Jia San Guan Soup Buns and Lao Mi Jia Soaked Bread etc. You can also eat almost all of Xi’an delicacies here: various kebabs, bread and mutton soup, soup buns, spicy goat trotters, and cold skin noodles etc.
Huimin Street can be said to be the business card of Xi'an City. It is impossible to say whether to come to Xi'an or not. It is a famous snack street. It is as famous as Hubu Lane in Wuhan, Jinli in Chengdu and Confucius Temple in Nanjing. Although it is regarded as a tourist destination for foreign tourists, in fact, local residents have always regarded it as the main place for snacks, shopping and leisure, especially in the summer night market where more people eat and spend their time in the cool. In fact, the whole "Huifang" area is full of restaurants, a variety of Muslim restaurants and stalls closely linked, including many of the local people most recognized the old shop. The Huimin Street in the evening is different from that in the daytime. The whole street is covered by the strong atmosphere of the market. There are various kinds of stalls with electric lights and steam lamps on both sides of the street. They mainly sell cakes, dried fruits, preserves and snacks. Behind these stalls are many restaurants that run local snacks. When there are many people, not only are the shops crowded, but also the doors are full of tables and chairs. Barbecue kebabs, beef tripe cooking fireworks filled the street in the less bright light, bustling crowds are roaming, eating, everything is full of real lively enthusiasm for life.
enjoyed the food.. very lively.. delicious food.. some shops have long lines probably due to delicious tasty food which they cook.. crowdy .. so a place to visit.. its nearby bell tower. street shops is also just parallel to it.. metro station is also just near to it
To all the foodies out there. Yes you.!!!! If you’re keen on trying local Xi’an food or just any other Chinese dishes then this is the place to be. This street reminded me a little of Yangshuo West Street. Crowded with people and of course different food stores and smells.Whether you’re keen on eating fruit, spicy food or just barbecued meat you should definitely add this on your to do list when coming to Xi’an. It’s also worth walking through the street and making a stop at the Bell Tower while at it.
This area is always bustling with people and for good reason, the food at the Muslim Quarter really is so delicious! I couldn't get enough and visited every day while I was in Xi'an. Plus, there are a few other sites (the Drum Tower and Bell Tower) which are only a few minutes away.
Compared with other ancient capitals, Chang'an has been an imperial capital since ancient times. First, it was built earliest. Second, it was built by 13 dynasties. Third, it was built by the longest time, up to 1062, while Beijing was only 600 years old. Fourth, it was the first metropolis in Chinese history to reach one million people and implement urban construction and management at the earliest time. At the same time, Xi'an, as well as Athens, Cairo, Rome and Istanbul, is one of the world's five famous ancient capitals. The ancient city of Xi'an, the witness of history!
In the Han Dynasty more than a thousand years ago, this was the starting point of the Silk Road. Here, there are businessmen, envoys and students from Arab and Persian countries. Here is Xi'an and Huimin Street. Huimin Street refers to the four streets of Beiyuan Gate, Huajue Lane, Xiyang City and Dapiyuan. In the evening, Huimin Street has a touch of romance in the fireworks. The whole street is covered with a strong atmosphere of the market. There are various kinds of stalls with electric lights and steam lamps on both sides of the street. They mainly sell cakes, dried fruits, preserves and snacks. Xi'an Fangshang is good at making snacks, with exquisite materials, fine production, sweet, salty and spicy buckwheat with a wide variety. Beef and mutton steamed buns, bacon and mutton, steamed mutton, honey dumplings and so on.
As a tourist, Huimin Street must be visited. I don't know why, they all say Yongxing Square is good, but I think Huimin Street is more delicious than Yongxing Square. Perhaps Yongxing Square is cheaper, but if you really want to be cheaper, the local people talk about eating in the back of Huimin Street. The next day I rushed to the back, wondering if it is Xiyang City, there seems to be some old shops. There is a bacon queue, as if this is the business here, rather than many old Bai family, old Sun family. Anyway, I only hate that my parents gave birth to one less stomach. All the photos uploaded are shops in Xiyang City.
An elder brother of Xi'an on the train once enthusiastically introduced to me the delicacies and interesting places of Xi'an. I had a good chat. He said that Shanxi people know that Huimin Street is famous for beef and mutton, and other authentic Shaanxi cuisine bought in Huimin Street is expensive and delicious. So he gave me the address of all kinds of delicacies. After arriving at Huimin Street, I was shocked. This is Xi'an on the tip of the tongue. I don't accept anybody's criticism of Huimin Street. Huimin Street is not a street but a block. It's big, especially big. Sajinqiao Grand Leather Courtyard, North Guangji Street. There are so many delicious foods!! Don't fool around. Beiyuan Gate Street is mainly for sightseeing. After all, the lining is the key point. But eating meat with bread is really not going to Huimin Street. Huimin Street is characterized by beef and mutton and various snacks such as persimmon cake, sour plum soup, mahjong and biangbiang noodles. Pomegranate juice is also recommended during this season. Of course, my favorite is roast squid. The brothers of roasted squid are very handsome and have such exotic features. The mouth is a special contrast of Shaanxi dialect, sprouting hhh. Well, Cuihua Road has mutton soup steamed buns on the back street of the temple and grandma's handmade mash in the leather yard. Aha ha ha is highly recommended.
Huimin Street is not tired of going every night, and the most delightful thing is that Lao Mi's steamed mahjong chilli and their beef steamed buns are also very delicious, but you have to remember to break the buns. Then I especially like yellow cinnamon persimmon cake. It's very hot and delicious. There are many small cakes and so on, but mirror cakes are not recommended if you do not like sweet, or do not try easily. Small twist is delicious and crisp. If Southeast Asia is really tall, it's closed several times. Lao Sun's meat steamed buns must be recommended as super delicious 15 before, it's worth it! This is the best meat steamed bun I have ever eaten in Shaanxi. Every day there are many people queuing up. That was the last one. He said that it was basically closed at 10:00 Huimin Street. And that Jia Santangbao restaurant is also very delicious to be a comrade who doesn't like to eat soup bags very much. It's very satisfying to check that their Babao sweet porridge is very comfortable.
Bell Tower Xi'an, one of the landmark buildings in Xi'an, is one of the four world-famous ancient civilizations. It ranks first among the four ancient capitals of China. It is the longest capital in Chinese history, the capital of the Dynasty and the most influential capital. It is the cradle of the Chinese nation, the birthplace of Chinese civilization and the representative of Chinese culture. Xi'an is also a tourist city. There are all kinds of snacks in the northwest, especially the Huimin street, beef and mutton steamed bread, meat steamed buns, peanut candy, pomegranate juice, trouser noodles, and various styles of hotel apartments. Especially after I finished eating in Huimin street, I ordered a private apartment on the cell phone, Yilong same home, opposite Downing international in Town God's Temple, and only a few hundred meters away from Huimin street. The room is quite good. It can also cook tea (local Fucha in Shaanxi). It's very comfortable to sleep in bed. It's also good to watch big movies free of charge on TV.
