Don't expect too much, you will feel good. Very suitable for taking pictures, couples take a walk to relax
Weather was perfect during the last week of November. This island is great for a relaxing break, stroll along the seafront, gardens and alleyways with plenty of snacks to tempt you. You could easily get lost thru the maze of alleyways, if you can read Chinese, Baidu map would be perfect to find your way back. If you book hotels, you could end up in one up a steep slope so be warned if you have lots of luggages. Most lanes look the same and from one end, it looks like a dead end but right round the corner is could be a busy food street. Worth familiarizing the areas around your hotel so that you can find your way back. Its a small island, how lost can you be!
It’s a great place to visit if u ever decide to go to Xiamen. Firstly, u have to take a boat to get to the island (about 15-20 minutes ride). As soon as u arrive u’ll see some small hotels, and houses, where local people live, blend in together. U can discover some tunnels that people use as an underpass to go theough the mountains. There are many small restaraunts with delicious seafood and u should definetely try the tea made of some flowers and fruits. U should defenitely walk to the Giant Statue that is in the sea, unfortunately we didn’t because we arrived late, and we have walked a lot and got tired so had to rush back to catch a boat to return back to the city.
