Nice small garden with a stone labyrinth. There are 12 caves on the labyrinth. Each cave is represented by one animal of the zodiac. Downsideof the garden is the entry price.

    The gem within Gulangyu Island

We spent a 3 hours on Gulangyu Island. The whole island is filled with European style buildings and interesting gardens, including Shuzhuang Garden.

    Quite pretty

The gardens are quite pretty. They aren’t very big, but it was nice just to walk around. There is a boardwalk with an expansive view of the South China Sea.

    Intriguing garden

Fascinated by the rock garden in the park. The garden is not big, but also meanders on a path along the sea shore. Your ticket, also includes the 2 buildings of the piano museum. Well worth a visit

Additional Information

Introduction

Built in 1913, Xinzhuang Garden is located in the south of Gulangyu Island. It was originally a private villa owned by renowned gentleman Lim Nee Kar. In 1956, the owner of the garden donated it to the country. The landscapes of Xinzhuang Garden are alternately dispersive and orderly. The architectural style combines both Min style and Western colors. Built by the sea, it is unique and stunning. It is mainly divided into two sections: Zhaihai Park and Bushan Garden. The main attractions are the Piano Museum, the Twelve Sky Caves and the Forty-fourth Bridge. The Forty-fourth Bridge is an excellent place from which to view the sea. It is recommended that you come here to view the sea.
