Nandun Ancient City

Nandun Ancient City is located in the northeast corner of Si Laojie Village, Nandun Town, Xiangcheng City, Henan Province. The transportation of the site is very convenient: it is 2 kilometers away from Daguang Expressway in the west, 500 meters away from Luofu Railway in the west, 6 kilometers away from Luoning Expressway in the north, and adjacent to the suburb of Xiangcheng City in the east, surrounded by plains. The site is a large-scale historical and cultural site group, including the Xia and Shang era sites, the site of the ancient city of Nandun, the ancient tombs of the ancient city of Nandun, the ancient tombs of the ancient city of Nandun, the ruins of Guangwutai and the Guangwu Temple Buildings and other historically important relics and cultural relics. The era of the site spans a wide range, from the Xia and Shang periods to the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. During the Xia and Shang dynasties, humans gathered and lived here. In 1005 BC, King Cheng of Zhou went on an expedition. In order to capture the old business people here, he entrusted his descendants with the surname Ji to build a son-in-law in Shangshui County, which is adjacent to the northwest. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the country of Dunzi moved south to this place to build a new capital called Nantun. In 496 BC, Chu destroyed Dun, and the people of Dun were reduced to Chu slaves, and Dundu was left to later generations. The Qin Dynasty established Nandun Township, which belonged to Chen County. The Emperor of the Western Han Dynasty set up Nandun County and extended it to the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. This 400-year-old old city was rebuilt. Liu Qin, the father of Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, was the magistrate of Nanton, and Liu Xiu lived with his father in Nanton. After the "Rejuvenation of the Han Dynasty", in the nineteenth year of Jianwu's reign, he drove to Nanton, and the people of Nanton built a platform to celebrate in the city. Liu Xiunian thought of his father's old love, and exempted Nanton from the land rent for two years. Thanks to the people of Dunn from generation to generation, they built a temple on Guangwu Terrace to worship him. It has been destroyed and repaired for more than two thousand years, and the incense has not faded. In 1986, the ruins of Nanton Ancient City were announced by the Henan Provincial People's Government as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit.
