Reed Flute has gone through a long period of time. It was originally an ancient underground lake 1 million years ago. Due to the elevation of the crust movement, the groundwater level dropped and the underground lake became a cave. Later, the groundwater formed by the rain flowed along many broken belts in the mountain, dissolved calcium carbonate in the rock and became a solution containing carbonate and calcium ions. When groundwater flows from the rock gap into the hole, the carbon dioxide overflows and the calcium ions precipitate and crystallize. After years of accumulation, it forms a variety of stalactites. People praised Reed Flute Rock as a palace of nature.

this was incredible, I loved it. The little train ride to the cave was cute as well.
The cave is amazing and I've never seen this type of caves, but sad how it was turned into another Disney land. There are "professional" pictures to take, guides with microphones, concrete road for a walk and a "movie" on the wall. People touch everything they want, and even saw some climbing on for taking a picture...
Such a beautiful place to visit, situated on the top of a hill (20-30mins walk up), the cave takes around 1 hour to walk around. Beautiful stalactites lit up with multi coloured LED lighting, this attractions costs 90RMB (£10) to get into. You are able to reach it by bus or by taxi (50RMB from the centre if you haggle).
In the Demon's Realm! I can say it is worth to visit! The cave is big, walking distance is long, every turn brings you surrealistic shapes, so let your imagination transform it into colourful dreams. The pictures can't reflect the feelings during this psychodelic journey. This is the best cave of this type in China I have seen.
An amazing experience so close to guilin and a definite on anyones itinerary. Tickets, at the time of writing, are cheaper online, and here, than those at the ticket office. There are halfprice tickets to those that are smaller than 1.5m and who are chinese students (foreign students with chinese university ID as well) However there appeared to be a time attached to the ticket (none seen on the ticket or confirmation) so a wait may be required. Do not do the train up (¥35) as the walk takes ~15 minutes unless you require assistance. But such steps are found inside the cave as well.A decent camera is an added necessity for the low light shots
