Laoye Mountain is a mountain peak in Ma'an Mountain. It is located by the Beichuan River on the east side of Qiaotou Town, Datong County. It is a major mountain in the middle of Datong, covering an area of about 2.5 square kilometers. Because of the original Taiyuan Palace (ie Guandi Temple) on the top of the mountain, it is commonly known as "Laoye Mountain", also known as "Yuanshuo Mountain" and "North Wudang". It is one of the most majestic and scenic peaks near Xining. The mountain is in the northwest-southeast direction, with great height difference. The main peak is 2928 meters above sea level and the relative height is 486.5 meters.

Laoye Mountain is not considered high in the distance, but it is really climbing. After climbing to the top of the mountain and looking down, I found that Laoye Mountain is really high. People with fear of heights really dare not go up. But climbing to the top of the mountain and looking down at the scenery is really super nice. Tickets are not too expensive. Students are half price and it is worth visiting. The rivers and mountains are great, go for a walk, how great!
It is steep, challenging, and the scenery is very good. The back mountain is full of trees and wildflowers. You can see the panoramic view of Datong on the mountain, and you can also overlook the Niangniang Mountain and the Ming Great Wall. It is a good place to go. The timid can go from the back mountain, the front mountain is a good choice, but you need to pay attention to safety when taking pictures. The cleaners work hard and hope that tourists pay attention to their personal qualities.
