What people are saying:

Going to the Tulou Temple was purely accidental. I didn’t notice such a place from the introduction of Baidu Tourism’s attractions. It was on the way from the hotel to the Great Mosque of Dongguan. I suddenly saw the wonderful landforms and caves on the cliff. The rich Western Regions style came to my face, so I decided to get off the car and go directly to play. After passing a dirt road, passing the mountain gate, and passing through the main hall, behind it is a straight, long and steep step ladder leading to the middle of the mountain; the cement on the surface of the step ladder is peeled off, leaking the red bricks inside, and climbed to the middle of the mountain. Overlooking Xining, the blue sky and white clouds are open and fresh. Those weathered mountains and the buildings, verandas and caves built on the cliffs remind people of suspended temples. Although it is a Taoist temple in name, it incorporates the comprehensive concepts of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, and reflects Taoism. However, the natural statue of King Kong is said to have blessed the city of Xining. The locals call it Lord Huang, which is really a natural Buddha from a distance. There are some colorful flags of Tibetan Buddhism nearby, and a white pagoda on the top of the mountain in the distance. Devout believers who want to come are not afraid of roads, steep mountains, hardships and dangers, and respectfully pray, worship, and believe. As if I could feel those Sanskrit sounds rising in my heart. The scenic area is free and it is worth playing!

    A pleasant surprise

Casting around to fill a half day in xining, this was perfect. Beautiful setting, stunning cliff temples (although you can't walk amongst them, too precarious).
