8:00-18:00 (Local time)
The Manchunman Buddhist Temple is located in the Dai Ethnicity Garden of Menghan Township, Jinghong City, in Xishuangbanna Dai Ethnicity Autonomous Prefecture. Built in 583 AD, it is one of the famous Buddhist temples in the area. Each year, upon the occasion of major Buddhist events monks and Buddhist followers from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Laos, and other places would gather here to conduct prayer and chanting ceremonies. The main hall at the center of the temple is the prinicple component of the building complex. The hall has a rectangular shape. Its roof ridge is decorated with nesting birds that symbolize good luck. There are pottery ornaments in the middle of the hall. The hall’s indoor space is wide and tall, with round concrete pillars on both sides. All the pillars are colored red and decorated with patterns drawn with golden powder, thus forming a magnificent picture.
