Wisteria
Kumano Shrine in Nakayama, Yanagawa, is known for its wonderful wisteria. In spite of COVID, many visitors came to appreciate that 300 years’ wisteria. I walked from JR Chikugo Funagoya station. It is...
I came when the wisteria was in full bloom. I used the parking lot behind the main shrine and walked toward the wisteria trellis. I think it's a shrine with the same history as a wisteria tree, but it looked like a local shrine. Some people were worshiping.
I went out during the wisteria festival. The stalls lined up in the precincts of the shrine were lively. The wisteria shelf over the river is wonderful. The locals were busy with parking lots and agricultural products.
In mid-April, I visited for the first time as a tourist who came to see Fuji in Nakayama from Kurume. How much is it because it is Kumano Shrine? It was Kuritsu 々, but for the first time, both my family and I were out of tune. However, there were all the first torii gates, two torii gates, tower gates, shrines, forests, etc., and the precincts were very successful probably because the Ofuji was in full bloom during the festival. The relaxing forest maintained next to the precincts feels like yes. There is a stone pillar carved with "Amaterasu Kodaijin" at the boundary between the precincts and the resting forest. "Amaterasu Kodaijin" and ... in my house on religious onchi.
Nakayama Kumano Shrine is famous for its splendid wisteria flowers, but when I visited it, it was out of season, so the flowers were not in bloom. But when I saw the splendid branches, I imagined the splendor of the wisteria flower. Next time I will go in April.
