Yanji was named one of the “China's Excellent Tourism City” by the National Tourism Administration. It has beautiful natural scenery, rich Korean culture, the majestic Changbai Mountain in the south and the summer resort Jingbo Lake in the north. Attractions in Yanji include: the Mao'ershan National Forest Park, the Chengzishan City Ruins, the Mengdumei Folk Tourism Resort, and the Chunxing Ancient Korean Village.
The Maoershan National Forest is located in Maoershan which happens to look like a straw hat. The forest is well known for its rich ethnic culture, regional culture, and forest culture. At the top of the hill there is a natural observation platform where visitors can view the Buerhatong River and the Hailan River. The view includes the south and the laid back Hailan River is found embedded in the grangrant Hailan River Plain. Through the Maoershan National Forest you will find a variety of pines, eucalyptus, poplars, and shrubs growing through the mountains. There is also lots of wild life that you can observe living on the mountains including chickens, wild rabbits, and other local wild life.
Yanji Park is situated on the bank of the Yanji River in northwest Yanji City. This historic park contains ancient trees and tall flowers. There are mountains, water, pavilions, terraces and pavilions. The scenery is very beautiful. There is a zoo in the park, which is home to rare creatures such as the Siberian tiger, sika deer, peacock and white swan. There is a marvelous pine forest on the north side of the park. There is a pavilion on the small piers spreading from the forest to enjoy the scenery of Yanji City.
Yanbian University is found in Yanji City, the capital of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Jilin Province, which is known as the "hometown of education". It is the important construction university of the national "211 Project". Yanbian university's campus area is not large, the terrain is relatively large, campus buildings are full of Korean ethnic style, very ethnic characteristics, around the school food gathered.
Yanbian Museum is found in Yanji City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. It is a comprehensive museum integrating local history and Korean nationality characteristics. The museum area is scientific and reasonable, and has complete functions. There are several functional areas, such as holding storage area, cultural relics restoration area, exhibition area, scientific research area and office area. The collection of cultural relics is mainly composed of ancient cultural relics, modern and contemporary cultural relics and Korean nationality folk cultural relics. Among them are the tombstones and murals of the Princess of the Tang Dynasty, the Princess of the Sea, and murals, room-patterned bronze mirrors, and double-glazed pottery jars.
