About Yi County: Yi County is situated in the southeast of Anhui province, close to the city of Huangshan. The area has an impressive collection of Ming and Qing dynasty residences, ancestral shrines and gardens. The ancient villages of Xidi and Hongcun are located here, two classic examples of traditional Chinese villages that have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The region has a pleasant climate with four distinct seasons and picturesque rural scenery. The famous poet Tao Yuanming (c. 365-427) wrote his fable 'The Peach Blossom Spring' here.
