Yibin City is located in the southeast of Sichuan Province. It is the starting point of the Southern Silk Road. The headwaters of the Yangtze River originate from the Geladaindong Peak near the Tangla Pass. However, the Yangtze River geographically starts from Yibin in Sichuan. Under that consideration, Yibin is called the “First City of the Yangtze River." Yibin is also a city with very advanced liquor making tradition. The famous liquor Wuliangye is produced here. As a result, the place is has been given the moniker "capital of liquor".
The Shunan Zhuhai National Park is located in Yibin where Changning and Jiang’an counties meet. The air here is pristine and the scenery is gorgeous. You can see many products expertly crafted from bamboo at the park's Changning Zhuhai Museum. You can even get a panoramic view of the “bamboo sea" from the aerial tramway. When you come here, don't forget to try a meal prepared fully from bamboo at a local farmhouse. You can get bamboo shoots, bamboo fungus (a type of edible fungus), bamboo eggs, and bamboo tripe, all of which are delicious.
Lizhuang Ancient Town is located 19 kilometers from Yibin in Sichuan Province. The town is home to a wide range of well-preserved Qing dynasty architecture, wood carvings, and stone inscriptions. The town is famous for its white rice cakes and sliced pork. During the War of Resistance against Japan (1937–1945), over a dozen Chinese universities and research institutes relocated to Lizhuang, including Tongji University, the University of Nanking, the Academia Sinica, and the National Central Museum. Many famous scholars lived here for six years, making the town one of China's leading cultural centers during the war.
The Xingwen Sea of Rocks is located in Yibin City and there are many scenic spots in the area, including the rock forest, caves and Sea of Rocks. Here visitors can take in the towering stone forest, enormous cave and the stalactites inside it. It is a great place to witness the wonders of nature. Xingwen Sea of Rocks is famous for its caves. Visitors will stand in awe of the vastness of the caves and the amazing variety of stalactites within.
The cableway is in the Shunan Bamboo Sea in Changning County, Yibin City, and is one of the most celebrated cableways in China. The breathtaking scenic area is a fresh air environment and natural oxygen bar. The cableway is thousands of meters in length, from Guanhai Tower and Feicui Gallery to Mo Rivulet and Wangyou Valley. It offers a view of the vast bamboo sea and the white fluttering clouds.
