Taibai Lou

Taibai Building is located on the north bank of the ancient canal in the urban area of Jining City. It was a restaurant operated by the Helan family in the Tang Dynasty. In the twenty-fourth year of Kaiyuan Tang (736), the great poet Li Bai and his wife Xu and their daughter Pingyang moved from Anlu, Hubei to Rencheng (Jining). many psalms. Helan's restaurant also became famous because of Li Bai's frequent patronage, and business was booming. Since the second year of Tang Xiantong (861), Shen Guang, a native of Wuxing, admired Li Bai, went to the Helan restaurant for sightseeing, wrote a plaque for the "Taibai Restaurant" in seal script, and wrote "Li Hanlin Restaurant". Since then, the Helan restaurant has been changed to "Taibai Restaurant" is famous all over the world. During the Song, Jin and Yuan dynasties, the restaurant was renovated according to its appearance. In the twenty-fourth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1391), when Di Chong, the commander of the left guard of Jining, rebuilt the "Taibai Restaurant", he relocated it to the south city wall according to the style of the original building with the meaning of "exiled from the immortal", and relocated the "Taibai Restaurant". The word "wine" was removed and it was named "Taibai Building", which was later rebuilt dozens of times during the Ming, Qing and Republic of China. Today's Taibai Building was rebuilt on the old city wall with special funds allocated by the People's Government in 1952. The reconstructed Taibai Building, together with the platform base, covers an area of 4,000 square meters. The building is two-storey, with double eaves and Xieshan style, brick and wood structure. The fan-shaped "Taibai Building" is inscribed in regular script and inscribed in the middle of the second-storey eaves. On the north wall of the main hall upstairs, there is a stone plaque with the characters "Poetry and Wine Heroes" written by the poets of the Ming Dynasty, and under it are inlaid the "Three Duke Portrait Stones" inscribed on the whole body of Li Bai, Du Fu and He Zhizhang. There are more than 60 steles, such as "Records" and praises, poems and poems by literati and writers since the Tang Dynasty, and Emperor Qianlong's "Deng Taibai Tower". There is a rare "spectacular" Douzi square tablet written in Li Bai's handwriting. In 1987, Jining City established the Li Bai Memorial Hall in Taibai Building.
