In Budapest, there are nine bridges spanning the Danube, the chain bridge being the first permanent building that truly connects Pace and Buda. Just as the Tower Bridge is the London symbol, the Chain Bridge has been a symbol of Budapest for many years. We walked from the apartment to the chain bridge, about 20 minutes. Legend has it that in Budapest, what you have to do is to pick a morning, take the hand of a lover, and cross the chain bridge. This sounds like a very romantic thing, but the person I love doesn't know where it is. The chain bridge is not long, you can walk in 5 minutes, but it is enough for you to walk slowly, even if it is 15 minutes on the bridge, you will believe that without walking on the bridge in Budapest, you can not really feel the real Budapest.
The Chain Bridge was the very first bridge in the city to link Buda and Pest. Completed in 1849, this beautiful piece of architecture is a vital part of Budapest's history. At night, it is the perfect place to take in a panoramic view of the lit-up city. This spectacular bridge has an equally spectacular history. It's a great place from which to take in a panorama of the city (which becomes even more impressive at night). This was the very first bridge to link the two cities of Buda and Pest. The project was started in 1839 by designer William Tierney Clark and engineer Adam Clark, and it was completed in 1849. The bridge celebrated its 150th birthday recently with a huge open-air festival.

One of the most iconic structures in Budapest, the Chain Bridge is a 3-minute walk from our place. Originally completed in 1849, this was the first permanent bridge between Pest and Buda, then two separate cities. Nowadays it's a popular way to reach the Castle District from the hustle and bustle of the Pest side.
Lanchid bridge is commonly called of Chain bridge as it has several chains along the bridge. Is the direct access to the Castle district area.
Historic bridge linking the two sides of the city. Amazing views of the Danube and some of the most prominent landmarks.
Great place for a morning stroll. I recommend walking to this bridge after visiting the Parliament.
