Detailed Regulations
Foreign nationals who, within 14 days of their intended arrival, have visited any of the following locations are prohibited from entering the United States: Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. This policy does not apply to lawful permanent residents, or to the spouses, parents, legal guardians, siblings, children, foster children, or wards of a US citizen or lawful permanent resident. Further exemptions exist for foreign nationals holding certain categories of entry visas. Foreign nationals 18 years of age or older seeking to enter the United States from any other location must carry proof they have completed a full vaccination regimen using a COVID-19 vaccine approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). This policy does not apply to lawful permanent residents or to persons with valid immigrant status. Further exemptions exist for diplomatic personnel, persons with a documented medical condition that prevents them from being vaccinated, persons traveling for humanitarian or emergency reasons, persons whose entry is determined to be in the national interest, and a limited number of other categories of persons. All travelers are strongly encouraged to contact their local US embassy or consulate in order to verify their entry eligibility and any entry visa requirements prior to finalizing travel arrangements. More information, including about vaccination exemption categories, is available at the following URL: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/proof-of-vaccination.html

All persons (including US nationals) must present proof of a negative result for COVID-19 using a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) or an antigen test issued no more than 3 days prior to departure in the case of fully vaccinated travelers or no more than 1 day prior to departure in the case of unvaccinated travelers. Alternatively, persons who have tested positive for COVID-19 at any point within 90 days of their intended departure may present "documentation of recovery" for travel to the United States. Such documentation must include proof of a positive COVID-19 test result along with a letter issued by a recognized healthcare provider that personally identifies the travelers and matches the information in the traveler’s passport or other travel documents indicating the traveler has been cleared for travel. All travelers (including US nationals) must submit a "Passenger Disclosure and Attestation" form prior to departure wherein they attest to providing complete and accurate health information under penalty of law. Travelers lacking any of these documents may be prohibited from boarding flights bound for the United States. More information, including about documentation requirements, is available at the following URL: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html

When arriving into or traveling within the United States, all persons must wear masks covering their mouth and nose while aboard any conveyance or at any transportation hub. Be advised, various state and local authorities in the United States have implemented additional policies and restrictions for persons arriving into their jurisdictions.
