Cultural Experiences
The Rockefeller Tree Lighting and Ice Skating event at Rockefeller Center, located at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10112, stands as a cherished holiday tradition that captivates visitors from December 3, 2025, through January 15, 2026. This year’s centerpiece, a majestic Norway spruce from East Greenbush, N.Y., weighing 11 tons and towering 75 feet tall, has arrived to take its place among the iconic skyline. Illuminated by more than 50,000 multicolored lights, the tree will be lit during the live broadcast of “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” on December 3, continuing a beloved custom dating back to 1931, when Rockefeller Center employees first pooled resources to purchase a modest 20-foot balsam fir. Complementing this dazzling spectacle, the rink at Rockefeller offers a timeless ice skating experience, open daily from 9 a.m. to midnight, inviting visitors to glide beneath the glow of the tree and the city lights. Together, the Rockefeller Tree Lighting and Ice Skating event embodies the spirit of the season, blending history, grandeur, and festive cheer in the heart of New York City.
