Led by esteemed artist Becky Vincer, this immersive workshop will allow you to explore sublimation printing techniques on textiles. With a focus on experimentation, you will have the opportunity to play with dried flowers, layering, stencils, masking, and collage to create stunning patterns and designs. Utilizing disperse dyes on paper, we will print onto synthetic fabrics sourced from various locations, including scrap stores, dead stock, and charity shops. During the workshop, you will gain insights into the printing process, generate numerous fabric samples and testers, and ultimately create larger, A4-sized pieces. These sublimation prints can be framed or used for a range of craft projects such as patchwork, quilting, sewing, fashion, and book covers. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own light-colored synthetic clothing or fabrics to print on. Please note that mixed fabrics, such as 50% cotton and 50% polyester, may result in a duller print. Scoring is the same as tennis and the rules are similar, with the main difference being that you can play off the walls. The balls look identical, but padel balls have a little less pressure. Long rallies are frequent, seemingly impossible shots are common and points often culminate in drama and laughter. It’s addictively good fun. A fun and fast-paced sport that will challenge your reflexes, agility and endurance. Padel is a great mind and body workout! These two taster sessions will give you an introduction to the game, and an opportunity to try it out for yourself at the new courts at Three Hills in Folkestone. Equipment is provided, so you just need to wear comfortable clothes and trainers, and bring a bottle of water! The courts are under cover which means you'll stay dry, and there's a heated waiting area. Experience the enchantment of transferring hand-painted designs onto textiles through the use of heat press in the Sublimation Textiles Printing Workshop. Led by renowned artist Becky Vincer, this captivating workshop allows participants to explore sublimation printing techniques on textiles. Engage in a hands-on experience where you can experiment with various methods, including dried flowers, layering, stencils, masking, and collage, to create stunning patterns and designs on synthetic fabrics. Utilizing disperse dyes on paper, we will print onto fabrics acquired from sustainable sources such as scrap stores, dead stock, and charity shops. During the workshop, gain valuable insights into the process and create fabric samples and testers before working on larger pieces. The resulting sublimation prints can be used for a variety of craft projects, such as patchwork, quilting, sewing, fashion, and book covers. All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own light-colored synthetic clothing or fabrics such as polyester, acrylic, rayon, or nylon. Are you interested in scriptwriting for film or TV? This 5-week course will cover what makes a good story for the screen, how to create compelling characters, how to distil your story-idea into a log-line, how to plot out your story-beats, and finally what makes great dialogue and well-written action. You could be a complete beginner or have some experience. We will do lots of practical exercises to get you writing and you'll be encouraged to write in your own time so that you can produce at least 10 pages of script by the end of the five weeks. This might be either a complete short-film or the beginning of a longer-form screenplay. We will read your work in the final week, so you can hear your characters come to life. Tamsin is a scriptwriter with over 25 years of experience in theatre and an MA in screenwriting from the London College of Communication. Recent credits have been Angry Bird, a radio play broadcast in 2022 and then selected for the UK International Audio Drama Festival 2023. Her TV pilot script Planet Rising won a development option by The Writers Lab UK & Ireland 2022/23 and placed in other competitions. She teaches scriptwriting at Central Film School, London.
