Participants of the Kitchen Lithography Printmaking workshop in Maitland will have the opportunity to learn a simplified and safer version of lithography that they can easily do at home. Led by experienced instructor Ryan Price, this workshop offers attendees the chance to create beautiful color or multicolored prints using materials commonly found in their own households. The cost of the workshop is $80, with an additional $20 material fee that must be paid in cash directly to the instructor on the day of the event. Each participant will receive a sheet of aluminum foil mounted to plexiglass or mat board, as well as a sharpie to draw their desired images on. The process involves etching the plate using coca cola, rinsing it with water, and then applying canola oil. This low-cost approach provides a valuable introduction to lithography and allows participants to leave with newfound skills and their own unique prints. Open to all skill levels, this workshop promises a rewarding and educational experience for all.
