Bastille Festival | Sydney
The Bastille Festival returns to Circular Quay and The Rocks from July 16-19, 2026, bringing four unforgettable days of French food, wine, art, and celebrations to Sydney's CBD – free admission. This iconic winter food festival, now in its thirteenth year, invites visitors to experience authentic French flavors, from rich grilled cheeses, snails, and crepes to rosé bars, mulled wine, and fine cocktails. Over 130 exhibitors and more than 80 dishes perfectly blend classic French flavors with modern French creativity, offering a complete "French journey." Wine takes center stage in this year's "Taste of France x French Wines" event, a vibrant and immersive experience including tastings, masterclasses, and sensory experiences. The area also features bars open to those 18 and over. In 2026, the festival expanded its reach to Circular Quay, collaborating with the city's street performance programs to create a coherent musical journey; Gateway Plaza also opened a brand-new French flea market showcasing vintage goods, handicrafts, and community stalls. The Bastille Festival transforms the port into a vibrant celebration of culture, exchange, and the joys of life, featuring over 110 free performances, from cabaret and live music to mobile shows and some of France's most popular programs.
