Because we were a couple, one adult and two children, we couldn't fit into a regular room, so we booked a suite. The exterior is beautiful, in the bustling area of Bordeaux. However, we were given a second-floor suite. Anyone who's stayed in an old European hotel knows that the second floor was originally a warehouse, with low ceilings and small windows. You can see the building just two meters away. ☹️ When booking, I requested a higher floor and a better view, but they completely ignored it. The decor is dated, and I had no desire to take photos. The only toiletries were Byredo, but I don't like the scent. 😭 I won't stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is quite near Gare de Bordeaux St Jean, about 10 minutes’ light walking distance away. The hotel is neat and tidy. It provides free apples upon check-in. There’s a mix-up about breakfast, which I was almost charged for upon check-out when the staff at check-in mentioned all was already included in my booking (city tax and breakfast). She even mentioned dinner was included. Thankfully, I checked again with her, and she mentioned I could check them out and pay upon check-out. Duh. However, in the end, the breakfast fees were waived off, thankfully. There’s a water dispenser near the lift where we could top up water. There’s a fridge and safe deposit box, as well as coffee and tea sachets available in the room. The lighting was not that bright in the room, but since it’s already May, the sunset happens after 9 p.m. anyway, so it’s not a big issue. I think they purposely made the room a bit darker as well for ambiance, maybe.

Positive: fantastic location just off the main shopping street. Near shops, restaurants, pubs etc And less than 50m from a branch of Bordeaux’s famous caneles shop La Toque Cuivree. (Don’t leave with trying a few!) Slight negative: it’s in a pedestrian only street. We weren’t affected but if you need to handle bulky luggage, the taxis can’t drive up to the hotel’s doorstep and you have to walk 100m or so. Negative: the bathroom shower area was on a raised platform and wasn’t fully enclosed. The shower tile flooring became slippery once wet, and this made stepping up and down an exercise in caution.

The hotel is situated in a perfect location. It is in downtown and a few steps from the tram B. I particularly appreciated the cleanliness and the quality of the bed. My room was very quiet, although pretty small. I won’t recommend it for two people. The staff is gentle and professional. What was disappointing was the unavailability of a business room for work at the needed time. I had to go out to find a place for my business call at 9:00 AM.

The hotel room was okay and the location was relatively remote. I stayed for 3 nights and received a deposit of 380 euros. I locked the credit card and confirmed it with the front desk when I left. Everything was fine. The deposit was refunded to me two days later. But they charged me 132 euros and called me to ask what happened. They said we had used the hotel breakfast, but we said no. In the end, the hotel took a minute to verify it and said it was a mistake. Now we have to refund the money. I have an IBAN account. Bank of China does not have such an account at all. Then they told me to send me the process of checking the account number. The first time I gave them my husband’s account number, I did not receive an email after an hour. The second time I called them, they sent my email again. I gave it to them, but I didn’t send an email. I sent an email to the hotel again, and I’ll see when they will get a reply. I feel like it was intentional.

Laundry room, small gym always a positive! Location is bit far of a walk from the center, but trams are located no more than 5 minutes away. Also a short walk away from Les Halles de Bacalan and plenty of bars and clubs if that's your sort of thing. Very pleasant experience at Whoo Hostel

🟢 The location was very convenient and easy to travel around. We parked there and then used the tramway to get around. Convenient and easy. The inside of the building looks fresh and good. The rooms were quite big so we could spread everywhere. Surprised to see the toilets and showers separated, but enjoyable. Large choice for the breakfast for 18€ but had to wait sometimes for refill. 🔴 the staff wasn't really friendly except if you were the one to do your approach and talk to them. There was an alarm early morning during our stay and no-one was at the reception to greet us and tell us if we had to evacuate or anything. When we (other clients and us) told the réceptionnist it wasn't normal she got upset and replied back instead of apologising or anything. The staff didn't know what they were supposed to do in this case. Not reassuring if there's an actual fire someday. 🟡 cleaning wasn't amazing but could have been worse so no comment on that.

I enjoyed my stay in Bordeaux at this Appart Hotel. I walked there from the train station, it is not far but not close. At the beginning, I wasn't able to find it as it is off the main street, but once I know my way around, it's not bad! There are washers and dryers on-site and you can purchase tokens at the reception. I was told there is a sauna but I didn't have time to check it out. The lady at the reception is friendly, and there are candy bars and ready-to-microwave meals available for purchase. I would definitely come back to this hotel as the room has a microwave, fridge and pots, kitchenware for cooking a light meal. The room and bathroom are a bigger than most hotel bathrooms and bedrooms. The two photos are the nice view from my hotel room.

For a multinational competition team, having a microwave oven, kitchen and refrigerator can solve too many problems. Of course, it would be even better to have an oven and washing machine. The bed in the bedroom is good, but the sofa bed is really uncomfortable. It can be comfortable even with air conditioning during the hottest hours. There is a Carrefour city nearby, but the price is a bit expensive. If you want to go to Lidy, a cheap supermarket, you have to take the tram for two stops, but you can walk there . After the tap water in France is burned, there is a lot of scale. If it is unacceptable, buy pure water.

Lovely little room not too far away from the centre of all things happening in the centre.tranaport links are really good and the public transport system itself is so efficient. The room has a small kitchen filled with essentials for cooking light meals - hob, microwave and kettle. Sink prepared with things to wash dishes too. Also delighted to find we had a drip stand coffee machine! The room is compact but absolutely everything you need. There is a huge gate at the front of the property which means it's really safe. Neighbourhood was ok but would be walking quickly if I was on my own, however I didn't feel the need to get a taxi once. Bathroom has a hairdryer! Lovely graffiti artwork around the property as well.

The room was a good size, however rather dated, the bed soft and the shower hook was broken, so I was unable to hang the shower up when showering. Overall it was a rather disappointing stay and I won’t be rebooking on another visit. I stayed at the budget hotel next door last visit, which overall was better, just extremely compact. Reception staff were also not very warm and welcoming.

The hotel is right across the road from the train station and tram/bus stops. I had a nice stay except for two things. First, the tap/shower water was too hot. A hotel staff showed me how to adjust the water temperature and said it was like this all in France. I of course disagree. I had stayed in two ibis hotels in Paris and Nantes just before checking in this Mercure. I had stayed in countless hotels throughout my 30 years of travels in Europe and had never encountered this ”scalding water” issue. In any case, the solution was to let the water run an exceptionally long time till the very hot water ran out. Then I could adjust the temperature. I come from a place where people treasure fresh water and find this unacceptable. As the hotel take international guests, perhaps there should be notices/instructions in the bathroom on how to deal with this ”scalding water” issue. Second, the coffee provided in the room was below expectation. A 4-star hotel should do better than that. I was glad about the kettle in the room, though.

It's located right next to the tourist information center, so it's in a great location. It's also close to a tram station, so it's very convenient for sightseeing. The exterior was modest, but I was excited by the French-style staircase and rooms. There is an elevator, but you have to climb about three flights of stairs to get to some places. The hotel staff were polite and they also stored my luggage for free. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. The facilities were clean and wonderful, with no particular inconveniences, but they don't provide toothbrushes like in Japan, so I'll give it 4 stars. The hotel is right next to the Wine Museum, a 2-minute walk. It's not far from the city center either; it's about a 15-20 minute ride by light rail, but walking takes about an hour. Check-in service was good, and the room was clean. However, one thing was very disappointing: for those driving, parking is available in the parking lot next to the hotel. The hotel staff clearly stated they could provide a parking discount code. When we went to pay, no one was working at the payment counter, and the machine couldn't process the payment. After explaining this to the front desk, they called the parking lot manager, saying someone would be there later, and then told us to go talk to the manager about getting a partial refund. At this point, the front desk staff seemed indifferent and offered no assistance, which was quite disappointing. The attitude of the staff at check-out was vastly different from that at check-in.

The rooms are nice. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. My wife found a small bug on the bed. It wasn’t a bed bug but the staff was nice enough to change our rooms. The rooms are not the same even though they’re the same rate. One has a dressing table while the other doesn’t have one. So make sure to ask if you check in early enough. It is walkable to the city centre but not that close. Service staff was helpful and cheerful. Overall, it is good.

The location is acceptable, in the central area of Bordeaux, 500 meters walk after getting off the airport bus, the gate entrance is on the side of the street, easy to find, arrive at more than 10 o'clock in the evening, there are many people at the entrance of the bar, and feel safe. The rooms are small, with good hygiene, comfortable bedding and average breakfast. The front desk was good, and the taxi was booked, a better experience.

The hotel is right across the road from the train station and tram/bus stops. I had a nice stay except for two things. First, the tap/shower water was too hot. A hotel staff showed me how to adjust the water temperature and said it was like this all in France. I of course disagree. I had stayed in two ibis hotels in Paris and Nantes just before checking in this Mercure. I had stayed in countless hotels throughout my 30 years of travels in Europe and had never encountered this ”scalding water” issue. In any case, the solution was to let the water run an exceptionally long time till the very hot water ran out. Then I could adjust the temperature. I come from a place where people treasure fresh water and find this unacceptable. As the hotel take international guests, perhaps there should be notices/instructions in the bathroom on how to deal with this ”scalding water” issue. Second, the coffee provided in the room was below expectation. A 4-star hotel should do better than that. I was glad about the kettle in the room, though.

The location is great, only a short walk to the city centre. The tram stop is also very close by. The room was a good size, however rather dated, the bed soft and the shower hook was broken, so I was unable to hang the shower up when showering. Overall it was a rather disappointing stay and I won’t be rebooking on another visit. I stayed at the budget hotel next door last visit, which overall was better, just extremely compact. Reception staff were also not very warm and welcoming.

The hotel is suitable for those who want to cook their own food, even during a short stay: it is always convenient to have a stove, dishes, a kettle. It should be noted that there is no daily cleaning of the room and you need to take care of taking out the trash, etc. The proximity to the tram stop is a big plus. Service by staff was amazing - everyone seemed to speak English to some degree, and were always helpful Room size is good for the price paid. Location is convenient with direct connections to the airport and train station, and several tram and buses a short walk away. But you will need to walk a bit into the main town area (~10mins).
