Barkhor Street/Jokhang Temple Lhasa|1.09km from city center
This hotel is a little gem in Lhasa. First of all, it’s got a lift, which is a must at high altitude. They offered us free breakfast for the first night, but when we requested breakfast for the next two nights (paying), they actually offered it for free as well. The breakfast room has amazing views of the Potala palace.
The beds are very comfortable. There is a large coffee table, a large leather stool and an armchair by the window. And that window has another stunning view over the palace (if you’re on the 5th floor). The bathroom has everything you need, including shower flip flops (although we brought and used our own pair). Toiletries were good too. There were also slippers for the room.
Another nice touch was that they would bring a fruit platter to the room every evening at 19:00. This included jujube, cherry tomatoes, clementines and pears. All brilliantly sweet.
The hotel is very close to the big attractions in Lhasa, including the aforementioned Potala palace, Jokhang monastery and Barkor Street.
And most importantly, they had oxygen in the bedroom. A must have!
Finally, the staff is very helpful. They helped us book a takeaway for dinner on our first night and organised the free breakfasts the next day.FromSEK 290

Service: The lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. We had booked a twin room, but she proactively upgraded us to a family suite! The room was spacious and decorated with unique ethnic characteristics.
Facilities: The facilities are comprehensive, even including a medical oxygen concentrator! They also provide nasal cannulas. Everything you could possibly need is available.
Environment: Excellent, and the soundproofing is good! There's also a Nepalese restaurant on the top floor of the hotel that many locals frequent, and hotel guests even get a discount! The hotel's location is also superb; it's only about a ten-minute walk to Jokhang Temple (at a leisurely pace, typical for Lhasa) and very close to the bus stop. There's also a delicious cold noodle shop right next to the hotel downstairs!
I would definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Lhasa!FromSEK 206

I saw this place online for a holiday trip and decided to check in. It didn't disappoint me. First of all, I really like the environment here. It's clean and sanitary. It's equipped with disposable towels and bath towels, which is very considerate. Secondly, the service is also very good. Free laundry, oxygen supply and humidification are turned on in advance (the most comfortable hotel I stayed in Tibet, the oxygen diffusion is in place, and the humidification is also in place). In short, I am very satisfied. I like the decoration style of this store very much. If you like Chinese and simple styles, you can go for it. Handmade ******* souvenirs: very heartwarmingFromSEK 317

Barkhor Street/Jokhang Temple Lhasa|2.37km from city center
The service is the worst of all hotels where we have stayed worldwide. It is worse than even any 1-star rated hotel in China. Right from the entry, the check in is chaotic. No one attends to luggage. It takes 2 hours to do formalities and return passports. In Room dining, the order is a huge challenge. They take 2 hours to take order and deliver the food after 1 hour, when they serve only the food in a plate. No seperate dishes or any cutliaries (spoon or fork or chopsticks ... nothing provided). When you point these out, they say sorry and take another 1 hour to bring plates, chop sticks etc. BY now 5 hours passed and food is so cold and not eatable. This is a regular scenario ... repeated 3 times, I.e. everything we placed an order. It's a huge challenge.
On amenities, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If you just take a turn while sleeping, the other person is sure to wake up. They call king size bed .. it's two seperate beds kept side by side with cheap quality spring mattress.
On breakfast, it's very limited and every day same menu. No varieties, the food taste is horrible as well. Extremely bad experience.for the price that is paid. The feeling has been a complete waste of money, sleepless nights, staying hugry and waiting for food post order for 5.hours every time we ordered room dining. The same situation in restaurent as well.FromSEK 1,070

Arriving at the first stop in Tibet, I originally booked only one day because I didn't plan the trip in advance. I was really surprised after checking in. The facilities are complete, the rooms are very clean and tidy, and there are terraces on the third and fourth floors, where you can see the snow-capped mountains and the Potala Palace. The breakfast is said to be prepared by a Nepalese lady. It is very rich and full. Haha. Then I stayed for three consecutive nights. Every staff member was very warm and thoughtful. Because we had a little altitude sickness, they also provided us with medicine. They also gave us souvenirs before departure. We talked a lot about free time. One sister also showed us the vegetables she grew on the balcony, as well as strawberries. Haha, you can see that they are all people who love life. I am really happy to meet them. Maybe this is the meaning of travel. The trip to Tibet was finally achieved, but this time the time was limited and there was no advance planning. There were many places that I didn't have the opportunity to go. I will definitely come again next time~~~~FromSEK 184

Potala Palace/Sun Island Lhasa|0.51km from Potala Palace
We stayed for three nights, two adults and one child. The standard 1.35m beds were a bit small, but we were able to combine two beds to create a super-large one, which was perfect for preventing our child from falling off – a really brilliant solution!
The housekeeping staff cleaned the room promptly every day and replenished supplies thoroughly. After a long day of sightseeing, we were offered complimentary disposable saffron foot baths when we returned in the evening. Considering showering might not always be advisable in Lhasa due to altitude concerns, these foot baths were a true godsend and incredibly thoughtful!
All rooms provide 24-hour diffused oxygen, and a standard personal oxygen supply is also complimentary. However, high-flow oxygen requires scanning a QR code for payment.
The hotel's location is absolutely superb. It's just a 5-minute walk to Potala Palace Square. There's a park, airport shuttle stop, bus stops, and a shopping mall nearby, plus a large supermarket directly opposite. Jokhang Temple and Ramoche Temple are also just over a 10-minute walk away.
The front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful; seeing I had a baby, they even gifted us a complimentary breakfast – I'm so grateful for that! All the service staff were polite, friendly, and always ready to assist. Before we checked out, the front desk also gave a small gift to my child, who was absolutely delighted.
The driver providing the hotel's drop-off service also kindly helped us with our luggage, which was very much appreciated. Overall, our entire experience was exceptionally good. We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Lhasa.FromSEK 325

Potala Palace/Sun Island Lhasa|0.56km from Potala Palace
After searching for a long time online, I chose the Verona International Hotel. What attracted us at first was the location, which is really good. It is only more than 100 meters away from the Potala Palace. You can shoot the scenery of the Potala Palace at 180℃, which is particularly beautiful. I would like to thank Sister Wu of Sky Mirror for patiently helping us take pictures. Her skills are comparable to those of first-class photographers. I am very moved. The breakfast is also very rich. The service awareness of the entire hotel service staff is very strong, enthusiastic, and full of intimacy, just like going home. This is the first time I have felt such warm service. Moreover, for a hotel of this price and standard, this price is super cost-effective. I strongly recommend it to everyone. The night tour guide has a wide range of knowledge and good service. He took pictures of us all while lying down. I give him 100 points. The sour soup yak beef hot pot on the first floor of the hotel is also a feature. The 200 yuan set meal is super value and very good. Everyone must come to check in when they arrive in Lhasa.

When I first arrived in Lhasa, I stayed at Jicai, primarily because of its cleanliness and its proximity to the Potala Palace and Barkhor Street. My experience after checking in was excellent. After my trip to Nyingchi and Mêdog, I booked Jicai again. If you experience altitude sickness, the lobby provides an oxygen concentrator, and the rooms even have diffused oxygen supply.
I had wanted to try breakfast in Lhasa, so on my last day, I bought the hotel's breakfast and discovered their noodles (fen) are really good. I regretted not booking a room with breakfast included. If you're still debating whether to book breakfast, my advice is to go for it if you like sour and spicy noodles, because their breakfast noodles are delicious. Delicious, delicious!
Front desk service was good, and honestly, Jicai offers great value for money. Highly recommended.FromSEK 317

Upon entering the hotel, staff immediately offered us Rhodiola tea, which is said to help alleviate altitude sickness. The hotel breakfast was exceptionally plentiful, featuring *******, Chinese, and Western options. There's also a cafe on the first floor that offers a wide variety of meals. A self-service laundry room is conveniently located on the 4th floor, equipped with detergent, hangers, and dryers – a real plus for travelers. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service, providing free drop-offs to city attractions such as Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, and Norbulingka. Additionally, they offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off services for the train station and the airport bus station. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, attending to virtually all our requests. We are very grateful to everyone who assisted us during our stay. Stay in Lhasa for two days
The first day was a big bed room. I loved it as soon as I came in. Whether it was service or room hygiene, it was a word that liked to add cost-effectiveness. This tourist city can be considered very good. And it is close to the Jokhang Temple and the Potala Palace.
The next day I wanted to continue living without a room, and the front desk lady tried to help me change the standard room. It was also very good! Health tea in the hall is also delicious!FromSEK 250

Location: It's super close to Jokhang Temple, and there's a popular ******* hotpot restaurant and a night market nearby – so convenient!
Service: Excellent! The cleaning lady was very enthusiastic every day! The owner was also very kind! And there's a cute, very well-behaved big dog! (Once, when I mailed something, the delivery guy sent it to the wrong hotel, and the owner enthusiastically helped me find the package! So grateful!)
Cleanliness: The room was clean and tidy! I stayed for 5 consecutive days and was happy every single day! I had a wonderful vacation! Highly, highly recommend!FromSEK 154

The hotel can accommodate Hong Kong and Macau compatriots! The ******* architecture is the same as in the photo, the hygiene is very good, the experience is full, the bathroom is large enough to separate dry and wet areas, the water pressure is sufficient, the overall environment is very satisfactory, the only thing is that the room lighting is a little dim, and the Indian restaurant in the basement is also authentic. I also thank the staff for their warm hospitality during this experience.FromSEK 396

Shangri-La Hotels always deliver on quality, and their Lhasa branch perfectly blends the brand's spirit with ******* culture. I stayed for three nights, and the experience far exceeded my expectations.
Excellent Location
The hotel is situated in the heart of Lhasa, just a 15-minute walk to the Potala Palace, which is incredibly convenient for tourists. From the window, you can gaze at the golden roof of the Potala Palace, and the view is particularly stunning at night.
Impeccable Service
From the warm towel offered by the doorman upon arrival to the efficient check-in process by the front desk staff, every detail showcased Shangri-La's high standards. The genuine smiles of the staff made us feel at home, even at such high altitudes.
Comfortable and Cozy Rooms
Our Deluxe room was spacious, and the diffused oxygen supply system effectively alleviated altitude sickness, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. Details like floor heating in the bathroom and a humidifier demonstrated thoughtful consideration for the unique high-altitude environment.
Outstanding Dining Experience
The Tibetan-style lobby lounge is an excellent spot for afternoon tea, with a creative pairing of butter tea and Western pastries. Breakfast offered a wide variety, including local ******* specialties and options to cater to guests from all regions.
Unforgettable Special Experiences
The ******* medicine bath spa at the hotel is highly recommended; it effectively relieves fatigue after a day of high-altitude travel. The complimentary prayer wheel souvenir was also a thoughtful touch.
Minor Suggestions
The hotel's parking lot can be a bit tight, so it's advisable to book a space in advance. Also, hot water takes a little longer to heat up in high-altitude areas, so a short wait before showering is needed.
For first-time visitors to Tibet, Shangri-La is undoubtedly a reassuring choice. It expertly balances a luxurious experience with local culture, maintaining international brand service standards while immersing guests in ******* charm. It will definitely be my first choice for future trips to Tibet.FromSEK 1,014
