I was more than happy with the quality of my stay in this charming hotel in the heart of beautiful Graz, but I certainly had some issues with some rather unprofessional reception staf. First of all, the lady helping us with the check-in never asked for any ID to confirm that I was the one who booked and paid for the weekend-long stay at Das Weitzer. Such a flaw in the security system was a bit odd to me. However, the reason I did not the reception was the rude behaviour by their receptionist Katharina who seemed to be very unprofessional and rude to both my wife and me. I do not want to question this person's qualifications or intentions, but the fact was that she behaved as if we were some beggars from the street. If such people/behaviour remains at this otherwise lovely hotel, we probably won't be coming back there next time we visit Graz. As for the room 246 and the breakfast buffet - I can only highly recommend these!

I book a single room but the fact is there are 2 single beds in the room. Not sure if it is used really as single room or they gave me a big room because it wasn't fully booked.  Either way, it is nice to stay in spacy single room. Yes it is very spacy. Attached bathroom is also gigantic. yes it is ensuite. You can use rope for hanging your washing. Hair dryer is also equipped in the bathroom. The reason I chose AO is the location. I had to take early train to head back to airport next morning. I wanted to stay very close to the train station rather than city center. If you want to stay in central, do not choose a&o Graz Hauptbahnhof. Also there is another hotel right next to the station. It is kind of connected to the station. If you really need to stay close to the station, a&o Graz Hauptbahnhof is 1 or 2 blocks away and the block is rather huge.  There is tram station right in front of a&o Graz Hauptbahnhof, hence it is very easy to get to city central. I actuall walked back from central to a&o Graz Hauptbahnhof later that day. So location is good. Towel, linen, TV and wi-fi are included but no drink, you can find coffee at lobby but it is not free. (2 euro) The plan I chose didn't include breakfast but you can have it for 7 euro. I checked out a&o Graz Hauptbahnhof early and didn't have a chance to take a look at dinig space. There is cozy space next to recetion for guests to chill out, which is nice. There is a big table so that you can work on laptop. My stay here was quite ok but no one responded to my email query although I sent it several times. Don't expect good service from them. Also it took a long time to check in in spite of it wasn't so crowd. Overall, it was rather nice experience but I don't think I would rather try another place when I come back to Graz.

The Best Western Amedia Graz is located right 1 min from Messe Graz so perfect for attending any event there. You can also walk to the town center within about 7 mins or take the tram which passes directly in front of the hotel. The room was very nice with a big bath and comfty bed, though I had the room to street side it was very quiet. The breakfast need to be paid and was just average, eggs unfortunately too hard, the selection ok. In my opinion the breakfast was too expensive for what it definitely offered. There is a small parking garage included which you can book (if there is a free place) with additional costs. This might be interesting as parking is liable to pay costs and you have to do it with tickets from a machine (bit complicated if you want to be out and about. The check in was easy and friendly, staying at this hotel was fine. The city center is near, as said, right around the hotels you also find several small supermarkets and restaurants. It is worth checking the city center as it is very lovely.

I used to be an accord gold member and don’t know at what point I moved down. In any case I’ve always usually stayed at Novotel. We decided to stay at Mercure as opposed to NH in the city centre as this hotel was closer to the chess tournament venue. However I was most disappointed with the housekeeping at this hotel. The room was never clean! They never did anything the same way . In our 7 nights stay, water was never replenished the same way. The composition of the water bottles was based on some whim and fancy. Food crumbs on the floor remained on it. Even food crumbs on the bedside table remained as is. Tea bags were not refilled. I was honestly really appalled with the whole service issue. I specifically went down to the front desk and informed them that we want to have water without gas in our rooms. But nothing was done about it. One afternoon, I requested the front desk to get our rooms cleaned in the afternoon. When we returned it wasn’t done so. Housekeeping just randomly opens the room door; doesn’t speak a word of English and have a condescending attitude on top of it. Breakfast was the usual. Eggs, bread and cereal for vegetarians. No bake beans. Nothing different in the 7 day stay again. But staff at restaurant down are courteous. Bus stop very close to this hotel. 2 supermarkets right next to it as well, so good on location. Very close to the city Center and the island of mur. But not a place I’d recommend if on a holiday. More for business kind of stay.

I gave 5 stars because the hotel checks off some important criteria, with flying colors: Location, Price, Cleanliness, Service. Our room and bathroom were big, clean and comfortable. Even though it faced the street, there was really no noise. Short walk to the Hauptplatz. The reservation process, check-in and check-out were smooth and easy, staff polite and efficient. I would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic service, friendly staff, clean and well equipped rooms. There is also a sauna on the top floor and underground parking. The hotel is a short tram ride into town or a pleasant walk. Perfect for business and pleasure, would highly recommend and I will be back!

We recently visited Graz as our Daughter did a semester exchange in her final year of Law School. We stayed the the Hotel Mariahilf in room 351 which was a Suite (large). The Hotel was great with respect to location...only 3 stops to the Main Train Station. The Hotel has an old school feel and our room felt like we were in the attic of an old farmhouse...but in a good way. Some reviews mentioned that the floors were creaky and noisy..it didn't bother us and to me, it just added to the experience. There was no street noise in our suite and was very quite The included breakfast had some great options and the service was friendly and efficient. I'm a Lifetime Titanium with Marriott and have stayed in many hotel rooms (some luxury) and this was a clean hotel and a great experience for my wife and I

Have visited Graz for more than 50 years with family from here, but now longer the case, so this is the first time in Graz staying in a hotel. This hotel was picked for all round convenience with business to tidy up, friends and business meetings all in a week. The location could not be better opposite the train station. The trains are good from the airport usually 2 an hour but on Saturdays less frequent. Situated here there are tram and bus stops close by which take you in a variety of areas. The hotel is modern and has a roomy reception except when coach tours come in. Rooms are bright and well equipped. In our double room my wife and I had tea and coffee facilities, but it transpired that a similar room booked from my sister did not have this, and sadly we only found out at the end of the stay. The room was really quite warm, though there is A/C but this is noisey. We slept with the windows open but the outside noise 4 floors up was also disturbing. This would be great in winter but no so good in autumn when weather can be warm. Twice we were disappointed to have to leave notes for housekeeping as there was no soap in the dispenser for the shower, and once for the non replenishment of tea and coffee as well as a used cup with tea bag still in left when we returned at the end of the day. Breakfast is served during a long period from 6.30 onward. There is plenty of room and a good selection of items to choose from, but if there is a group in then this will be busy. Boiled eggs were hit and miss. We were told they were 5 min eggs but we had two occasions when they were not cooked properly. Summing up, a good place to stay for transport, but let down a little by patchy room service, and facilities. Be sure to check when you arrive, that you have what you should have.

To all travelers going to Graz.... This was the most charming, cosy and comfortable hotel I have EVER stayed in... And I fo travel a lot.... The mix of old architecture and modern elements create an excellent visual effect. The options of renting a bike or a scooter was a wonderful surprise. The safety and hygiene measures were all in place.... The staff, ALL OF THEM, were friendly and ready to help... The breakfast buffet was simply glorious with all the amazing little options for a first meal... Did I mention that it is central? With lots of connections anywhere you may want to go? Well, it is.... Thank you all at the Alois Daniel... You made me a happy visitor... I’ll be very happy to go back one day Sincerely Luís

This is quite an old hotel and the interior reflects this. Arrival is easy - there's an unloading zone in front of the hotel where you can park the car for a few minutes. After that, it's a short drive to the parking which is easily accessible on foot from the hotel. My room also reflected the age of the hotel, with very high ceilings and a classy, squeaking interior. I rather like this kind of room, bur some people might prefer a plain, modern interior. The downside from the room was the view on an alley and the office building a few meters from the window. Having booked a comfort room I would have expected something better than that. Upon my request I was offered another room but that was in the attic with windows viewing the sky rather than the street so I stayed with what I had. The room did have a fridge and internet was fast enough. Breakfast was good with very friendly service. Apart from the view, this was definitely a food experience.
