The whole place has that perfect laidback vibe while still giving off a premium, luxurious feel — super relaxing from the moment you arrive. What really stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly attentive and proactive — we didn’t even have to call them just to ask for water, they were already there anticipating our needs. That level of care made the experience even more special. It’s also very senior-friendly! The elderlies in our group truly enjoyed their stay, which says a lot about how comfortable and well-maintained the resort is. Overall, it was one of the best stays we’ve had, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful yet elevated getaway in Iloilo! ✨

We love the ambience of the place. Room service was superb! They really clean and change towels, even wash the used utensils knowing your things are safe when you come back to your room. All amenities are for couples except for the slippers but we didn't mind cause my husband brought his own. All of the staff are approachable. Wifi is working, fridge is cold, they also have blow drier and flat iron with stand. I just hope the television will upgrade to a smart tv. Everything was great. We even ate buffet breakfast which are various dishes from pinoy to foreign food.

First, the room air-conditioning unit was very noisy, which affected the comfort of our stay. Second, some personnel were less attentive and, sadly, came across as condescending. One particular incident happened when one of my friends asked for extra tissue paper. The staff simply said that the only tissue available was the one already provided on the table. However, when I was the one who asked for extra tissue, they gave me some. This was disappointing because it showed inconsistency in service. Guests should be treated with the same attentiveness and courtesy, regardless of who is asking. Another unpleasant experience happened after we had dinner at Festive Mall. We bought takeaway drinks from Starbucks and passed by the hotel pool area. Since there were no other guests there, we sat down for a while to enjoy the view. However, one of the bar personnel immediately approached us and, in an arrogant tone, said that outside food and drinks were not allowed. I understand that hotels have policies, but the way the policy was communicated was offensive and unnecessary. I also booked a room for three guests, but the amenities provided were only good for two. I still had to call and request the additional items. Honestly, I do not usually book hotels like this because I often feel they are not worth the money. I booked this stay mainly so my friends could experience it. Unfortunately, this experience turned out to be very disappointing. Overall: Good location, spacious room, and good food selection. However, the service needs serious improvement. For the price, I expected better promptness, gentleness, attentiveness, and consistency from the personnel. Sadly, I have experienced better service from other hotels with lower rates than Richmond.

The staff were accommodating, and both the hotel and our room were clean and well-maintained. The location is very convenient—close to restaurants, shops, Iloilo Central Market, and the port. My only concern, which I also noted in their feedback form, was the water. The shower water seemed salty and slightly sticky, almost like seawater. Aside from that, everything else about the stay was pleasant. Breakfast is served plated and is quite filling, and the internet connection is reliable. Overall, it offers good value for money.

Perfect location if you want to stay near famous attractions. Markets and groceries are walking distance fron the hotel as well. We tried to check in early but it was fully booked. However, staffs are accommodating and let us leave our luggages safely. Room is exceptionally clean, fragrant and spacious. Network connection is good. Everything works perfectly fine except the shower leaking through the host while open. Will definitely recommend this budget friendly hotel! 🫶

We had a good experience during our stay at Gateway Hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. We appreciated the smooth service throughout our stay. The only area for improvement would be the amenities, as we did not found them compared to other hotels. Adding more amenities would make the stay even better. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would still recommend Gateway Hotel to others.
