The security access using the room key card with the elevators made me feel very safe. High speed elevators very smooth and fast. Suite was spacious as advertised. High elevation suite worth the extra cost. The view makes just being in your room an event. Coffee machine with espresso pods, sugar, and fresh cream in the fridge tasted great. Good rates to stay in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Special offer for paying in cash, otherwise the normal charge for using credit card. Located near Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building with easy access to shops, restaurants and transport. Compact Queen Room was small but had the main requirements if you are only staying in the room to sleep and out all day - comfy large bed, TV on the wall, small desk and chair, air con, free wi-fi, small room safe, small fridge and coffee/tea facilities, blackout curtains, regular and nice rain shower fittings. Soap and wall dispensers of shampoo and body wash provided, but other amenities like hair conditioner, iron and iron board or dental kit can be requested from Guest Services (sign with list in the elevator). Friendly staff. Reception closed in the early hours but just use access card. A few negatives. My room was located facing the nearby wall of the building next door (so no view). I requested a view (if possible) but was informed there were no views for my room. I don't think hotels realise how any outlook can make a big difference for some guests to enjoy their stay. If I book again I would check first if a room facing the street was available. Worse and disturbing for me though was the constant humming noise and sometimes slight vibration caused by the air ventilation shafts outside my window (one quite close and attached to the outside wall). It also took a couple of days and some confusion before I received a make up room/do not disturb door sign. Many hotels these days take this lightly and are very casual about such arrangements, but some guests are more comfortable having this sign. Very minor was the cold water barely ran in the bathroom basin which was a little convenient at times. There was a TV entertainment lounge nook in the corridor outside my room which was not used during my stay but I would find that disturbing if it had been. Overall a pleasant stay but check out the different types of rooms available.From$90

What a relieve when I checked into the Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney! Had a total rip-off by the Sydney Harbour Marriott two blocks away. Marriott is 3-star pretending to be a 5-star. Radisson is a 5-star presenting like a 5-star. Radisson is miles ahead in every aspects compared to the Marriott, Room amenities are so much better, newer and modern, and breakfast is way better too! Bathroom with a tub is a joy compared to the Marriott that don’t even have a door separating the shower.From$172

Overall room was clean, however the USB port in the bedroom did not work, the alarm clock was not set and had an extremely annoying buzz, resulting in I had to unplug it anyway. The directions to the parking was extremely poor, no mention of a lift being used or what to expect. I suggested a flyer could be done to answer any questions for customers needing to use the car park service. There was little to no engagement of the staff about this and were only able to restate the poor information that was already given. I felt like a number and not a paying customer. It would seem your attention to details is lacking, and this would flow down from management to floor staff.From$137

4 night stay for Vivid. Chose this as an Accor member and that it was close to the Harbour. Upgraded to a Prestige Suite, Club benefits and was not disappointed. Yes the building is not new, it’s not like the shiny new hotels in town, but it’s solid and my sleeps were uninterrupted and rarely heard noise from the hall. My Suite 930 was spacious, clean, well appointed, Sofitel Bed topper and electric sockets to plug in my adapters to charge. Like other reviews no USB ports but I’m sure most sensible travellers have an adapter. The Club Sofitel access was the perfect addition. Early check-in and waited with a hot tea while my suite was made up. It was 9:30am but the room was rushed and 30 minutes later I was unpacking. Evening canapés and drinks from 5:30pm. Table drink service by Alley and her dedicated, personable, attentive team. They remember your preferences pretty quickly and it became an oasis from Vivid hoping and sightseeing. My suite completely blocked out the light and slept through 2 alarms, it’s the Sofitel Bed topper. Breakfast at Club Sofitel, peaceful, plenty of options to choose from, salmon and capers to a great gluten free station, eggs cooked to order and a great way to start the day. Try the Dilmah Blood Orange and Eucalyptus tea. Thanks Lara. Afternoon Tea served from 2:30 and daily sandwiches , scones, cakes and complimentary drinks, tea, coffee and soft. On entering the Club Lounge, always a friendly greeting, your preferred drink served and a relaxing space anytime of the day. The Club team really made my stay, they work really hard to make your stay great. Housekeeping always made up my room before my afternoon return. Always a Bonjour as you walked past them in the hall. My stay was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The Lobby is grand and the history of this hotel makes her great. Not the newest but I prefer tradition and good honest service. Corona benefited me as a six room dorm only had three beds available due to social distancing and the prices were cheaper than last time I went. Also I was the only one in the room the three nights I was there so like a private room for dormitory prices. The 1800 number was free and the ease of booking and the promptness of confirming it by email was excellent service. The staff were very friendly and all you had to remember was the code to get into the room. The showers and toilets were clean and eating area was clean with people always cleaning it. Other people in the place were friendly also. In fact that is why I go back all the time. It is also central to the city. You did not need t pay by visa on the phone wither and I paid when I got there just in case with all these sudden lock downs I could not go. The only down side was that I did not get a ride to the station and was drenched when I got there even though I had an umbrella. It was good time to go though as big floods the next week.From$28

Excellent location, it’s right next to Darling Harbor, 10 min walk to Town Hall train station and light rail station (Woolsworth is there too). Has a bus stop nearby.
Impeccable cleanliness, nothing to complain about.
Friendly and helpful staff. One thing to note is when I booked this hotel via Trip.com it says the room comes with free breakfast for two, turns out the hotel staff never heard anything about the breakfast. Still the staff were kind enough to take care of that for me. Deeply grateful to the staff but Trip should definitely clear it up with the hotel.
Overall 5/5, would definitely recommend.

I organised a group get together of 74+ year olds. A reunion 50 years after medical school graduation. Everyone was so happy. The GM Klaus was very corporative in arranging a 'gala' dinner for us in a separate room. The desk staff courteous and helpful. The rooms were small - but very elegantly designed. We stayed for 1 night and had the buffet breakfast. Requested for a cot and a high chair upon check-in and they were ready when we got in to the room! We booked the two-bedroom deluxe, they were interconnected and very spacious with a modern kitchen. The room was clean and there was milk in the fridge. Our room didn’t have a nespresso machine though, such a shame because the details said it should. The tv remote in the main room wasn’t working but we only stayed for the night and it didn’t bother us. I like that they have robes and slippers ready to wear. The beds weren’t very comfortable though, we all struggled to get a good night sleep. Check-in was a breeze, all the staff were so easy go talk to. The car park was on-site which was great. The hotel’s location is its best feature as it’s so close to everything — train station, woolies, restaurants, cinemas etc. it’s even connected to Regents Place at Level 10. I could not fault the staff. They are just so friendly and accommodating, always with a smile on their faces. They were also very quick go respond. The breakfast buffet was amazing and food was great, although it was disappointing that they still charged us full walk-in rate $32 instead of pre-book $28 each even though I told them that I tried to book online and via phone and spoke to Vincent. That’s why I’m only rating it 4/5 stars. Will return soon though :)From$134

This is where you want to be on Sydney Harbor. This is a fantastic hotel with rooms either overlooking the harbor or the park with the Opera House in the distance. The entrance is rather non-descript but functional. Check-in was fast and easy (although our key didn't work because the batteries in the lockset had died--it was quickly fixed). The head of housekeeping, Brooke, was very helpful and friendly. The room had a living room area, kitchen and laundry, dining area, bedroom, and bath plus a spacious balcony. The AC worked well. It was great having laundry available after having 3 weeks on the road. Breakfast was on a lower level in an area surrounded by floor to ceiling glass with a view of the harbor. You order from a menu. Check-out was a bit more complicated because we wanted to redeem some additional Accor points but the person on duty did not know how to do this. There was also the added confusion of the AU$400 that had been charged to our credit card at check-in instead of just being reserved on our card. She promised it would be resolved when the correct person came on duty that afternoon. As promised, we were contacted by phone and e-mail later that day and all was resolved. This is a fantastic hotel where we would gladly stay once again if ever in Sydney.From$255

We stayed for two nights at the end of May. Our room was quiet & clean even if in need of a refurbish, which presumably, going by the building works going on, is in progress. The building works didn't impinge on our stay at all. Our breakfast (which was included in our room rate), was surprisingly good. The area it was served in was very clean and bright. We found all the staff to be pleasant. Being able to checkin & checkout on line made things move quicker, especially the checkout. The cost of accommodation in the city is very high so we were pleased that Song Hotel was a bit more affordable to us. From$94

I had an extremely unpleasant stay in this hotel..very rude staff, tiny room like a shoebox, frequent issues with internet describes my stay in this hotel. Today morning ( Oct 29th, 2022) Internet didn't work at all for 3-4 hours, I called reception to complain and the lady at reception was very rude, she mentioned that Internet is complementary so we can't guarantee that it will work!! This is 2022 our whole life depends on Internet, I was on business trip and this bad quality internet made my life very difficult. Rooms are shoebox sized,while sitting on the bed, if you stretch your arms chances are that you will reach both sides of the wall .. Lol! Lady at the reception was extremely rude, I have been travelling around the world, never experienced such rudeness from someone in hotel industry, its weird, looked like she was on a mission to damage hotel reputation. Despite being in the city and my bunk bed is right next to the window, it's not noisy at all. Curtains are truly blackout, I wasn't affected by the main light switched on by the bunkmates. It was comfortable stay. The lounge/kitchen is small, but adequate for number of occupants. Friendly staff with good service. The toilets are kept clean. And there's hair-dryer that can be borrowed to use out of hours too.From$38

Thanks to the great staff including Ceria and Tatiana for making us welcome and fulfilling any requests we had. Room was a corner 1 bedroom 2602 and we loved it. Building had 27 floors and I love high floors. No issues with either lift. Can't understand other reviewers complaining about no servicing of rooms. Upon check-in we were advised just ask. We did and the room was serviced excellently. Had a welcome bev/snack package on arrival in room for Accor Diamond level and was great. Also had Easter bag hanging on door with choc eggs and more on Easter Sunday. So, loved the room, the staff, view of QVB and Sydney tower and convenient location. Keep up the great work! From$139

Check in at Bar 2:30pm. Friendly service. Old fashioned manual door lift up to room, adds charm! Room tidy with tv, fan (no air con), single bed and sink. Shared bathroom nearby. Stayed for an event in city so only needed somewhere to crash until morning trains. Had a few nightcaps late in the bar downstairs. Was appreciated. All staff were very polite and allowed me one final drink at last order. Price was right on Agoda. Cheapest i could find for own room. Location is ace nearby Tram stop, Wynyard Station and Circular Quay. Will stay again for a city visit.From$95

Let me talk about the advantages: the position is excellent! Darling Harbour is just outside the window. It is a ten minute walk from qvb and closer to the shopping street. The supermarket is a little farther away and can be reached in 20 minutes. The fish market, the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Gardens are all within walking distance. On the upper and lower floors, except that there is only one toilet, it is a little troublesome. Sleeping four adults is completely fine. You can cook. The kitchen utensils basically meet the needs of Chinese food, but... I found a small strong on the day of check-in. Fortunately, only one, let me know. Immediately after the front desk, someone came to spray the medicine. Two boys at the front desk were so cute, which gave us a lot of help. A roll of hair, a look like Superman clark, forgot the name... So sad.From$108

Room initially appeared well presented with good basic amenities and good central location for what we needed. Bathroom with large shower and good water pressure. Bed comfy.Front reception staff friendly and helpful. Parking close by (although a bit of a rabbit warren to get to / from car park, you also may need to tell parking staff that you a a guest of the hotel to get in as it also has public parking and fills up). The negatives I noted that bedside table had a couple marks (looked greasy/ hadn’t been cleaned properly) otherwise the room appeared clean to me. The tea and coffee looked like it was skimped (box showing 4 pods of coffee only had one). Friend in different room had similar experience and their soap was empty. Heard another guest complain about the cleanliness of their room to front reception whilst I was waiting in the lobby. For me the real surprise was being charged for things I didn’t use in the minibar. I rang them once I was home and reception told me it wasn’t an error, and the bill would remain (however they said ‘we will check’). I had one drink, not 3… unless I drank them whilst asleep!This is actually the action which motivated me to review this hotel, so others know to be careful. The charge won’t break my bank account but I feel like I have been shortchanged. I think all the issues with the hotel are with housekeeping, I won’t stay again though due to the minibar charges. If the housekeeping improved (cleanliness, refilling consumables and not charging guests for items not used) it has potential to be a nice hotel.From$143

Checking in at reception was unusual as it was in the front bar and being asked out to remove our son as reception was next to the pokies. Paid for 2 rooms as I thought it was going to be a double bed in one room and a single in the other. Turned out to be a single AND a double in both rooms. All I could smell in reception was cigarettes. Got to our rooms and it was cold and noisy. Air conditioner wasn't working properly or not at all. The windows weren't able to be locked and when closed, the road noise coming through the two glass panels was terrible. Bathroom was a little small but it was clean. The bed was terrible, have to say what sleep we had, was the worst sleep ever. Went to the front bar to buy a cans/bottles of soft drink and being told they don't sell them there, you have to go to the pizza bar next door. All good, on the way back through the front bar, asked for a mixer bottle like scotch and cola or bourbon and cola and then being told we don't sell that here. What kind of front bar is this? We were to stay for 2 nights but just bit the bullet and booked another hotel closer to the airport.From$57

I first stayed at Sydney Hilton in 2006 and the quality is still of that high standard after many years. It’s always great to meet good people, I always look forward to be welcomed by reception staff. On this occasion, Alisa was exceptional. When I asked for a specific room, which was unavailable, Alisa offered a room upgrade, which came with executive lounge access. This was greatly appreciated, as the Lounge on the 36th floor is one of the highlights of staying at the Hilton. It really did make my stay much more memorable. Well done to reception staff, and Alisa particularly. Good job.

I've never stepped foot in a room for more than $800 with dark curtains surrounding the room, compared to other hotels with cool sunlight and air conditioning. Although my room was very nice and what I expected, unfortunately my overall experience was not very pleasant at this hotel. The staff at the front desk was not only rude, they actually suggested that I find another hotel during check-in because I pointed out a fee discrepancy (credit card surcharges) that was not disclosed during my booking reservation on Trip.com app.
Meriton properties doesn’t disclose before, during, or after the reservation (Trip.com) that a credit card usage fee will be added, and that’s dishonest in my opinion.
What’s disappointing is the attitude I get for pointing out Meriton’s mistake. First they pointed to the sign on the front desk, however I didn’t make this reservation while standing in their front lobby. Second, they said I should have booked on their website next time where it’s disclosed—perhaps then Trip.com should remove them from their approved hotel list. Finally, to learn of the policy while I check-in by pointing to a sign at the front desk, and then being told that if I don’t like the policy that “I can checkout and take my business elsewhere”, was the last straw and is the definition of horrible customer service and poor resolution management. They could have handled this issue differently and just said, “we will look into it and try to do a better job of informing our customers of our policy online. We apologize for this miscommunication.”
They did email me afterwards with an apology but they still didn’t acknowledge their dishonesty in not disclosing their credit card usage fee on Trip.com app.From$100

Had a staycation for one night on Friday 7th October as a surprise for my partner’s 40th birthday. We loved it! We were really impressed with the service and the quirky aesthetics. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly. We were given complimentary drink vouchers for the Gowings bar but unfortunately didn’t have time to go so we will be back soon for a drink! Definitely felt more like a more personalised boutique hotel experience compared with some of the big name chain hotels that have more of a standard corporate vibe. I booked the QT king room with breakfast included and we ended up staying in a room on the 10th floor which felt spacious and luxurious and had a view of the QVB. Felt very sound proofed, couldn’t hear any outside noise at all. Pillows were a little soft but the giant king bed more than made up for that. Really liked the option of having breakfast downstairs or room service. We took advantage of having the breakfast delivered (I ordered via the QT app) and the food and coffee were both surprisingly good. We have decided that QT Sydney will be our staycation hotel for special occasions. Looking forward to our next stay! From$186
