Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour

This was by far the best hotel on our Australia trip. The views were fantastic, and they even gave our child a cute kangaroo plush toy. We were lucky enough to catch the Chinese New Year fireworks! The location is super convenient, just across the road from the light rail station.

The Trip.com promotion was really worth it, and this review is solely for the room type I stayed in this time. Overall, it far exceeded my expectations. 1. The Executive Lounge is top-notch, with incredible high ceilings and views. The breakfast offers à la carte options, and the food quality is excellent. Happy hour features unlimited oysters, ham, and macarons, and the all-day service puts all domestic lounges to shame. 2. The room from this promotion was a great deal, and the decor has a bit of a St. Regis vibe. The premium rooms have different brands of shower gel and slippers. The bathtub directly overlooks Darling Harbour. It completely outshines the Hyatt across the street, and the view is even better than the W. The only minor drawback is that the shower pressure isn't very strong.

The room was very clean, though a bit small compared to what I'm used to in my home country. However, the surrounding environment was very pleasant; the harbor with many restaurants was just a short walk downstairs. Overall, it was still a good stay.

It was okay. The price was outrageous during Chinese New Year, but luckily I had a room voucher, which made it pretty good value for money. It's a bit far from public transport, so we basically took taxis everywhere for our four-day stay. Sydney taxi prices are a rip-off though!

We brought our kids to Sydney for the winter holidays, and the room was clean and tidy. The location was excellent, and the night view was beautiful. The room size was quite generous, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, which was great. The kids had a fantastic time!

The transfer from T8 to L1 was super convenient. In the evenings, Darling Harbour is bustling with people strolling, chatting, and exercising. I hope to stay here again next time!
