Facilities: Although the hotel opened in 1988, all facilities were remarkably well-maintained, far exceeding my expectations. Also, the entire room was made of wood (including the washbasin), yet there wasn't a single water stain – how did they manage that? Cleanliness: Absolutely spotless. While rinsing my swim trunks out of sand, I accidentally pulled out the sink plug and found the area underneath was spotless. Environment: Fantastic. The place was spacious with few guests; I only saw a handful of people. Service: The attention to detail was amazing. The beach outside Aman was incredibly smooth, but the feel underfoot was completely different next door. Before water activities, staff brought out specially sized swimsuits for children from the room – such thoughtful touches!

The room is very spacious, with gentle decor and a well-thought-out layout. Over the past two days, many lotus flowers have bloomed, adding a lovely natural feel. The hotel staff are all incredibly warm and welcoming, and the restaurant food is quite good too. Although the beach is shared by several hotels, it wasn't crowded at all. We were lucky to experience both sunshine and rain, seeing Phuket in different lights. As for bugs, I personally didn't find them to be a big issue, and I didn't see any inside the room. I would definitely come back again.

Absolutely loved Katathani! Even though I didn't get the room number I originally wanted (emailing ahead didn't help, it's really based on availability at check-in), the view from our Oceanfront Love Room still blew me away. Waking up every morning to the stunning blue sea, having breakfast by the ocean, then enjoying a spontaneous spa in the garden, a dip in our room's pool in the afternoon, and finishing with a romantic dinner at Kissing Point in the evening – simply perfect! The hotel staff were all so nice, and the shuttle service was always on call, polite and friendly.

Honestly, it wasn't as good as I expected. I've stayed in many boutique, niche hotels like this before, but as soon as you enter, the beach is full of street vendors and tourists driving in, which immediately made it feel mediocre. The reception lobby was also small and not very grand. The shuttle took us very close to the room, as the area isn't big. The so-called 'mountain view' was just looking at a rather unattractive hotel across the way, so there was no real scenery to speak of. The only good thing was the rooftop bar; there was a girl there who provided excellent service. Other than that, there were absolutely no surprises or highlights. When I left, I took a bag that was in the room, and they actually charged me 750 Thai Baht for it! Nothing in the minibar was complimentary, which felt very stingy and completely mismatched with the room rate. When I stayed at Capella, everything was complimentary, including welcome champagne. In short, I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

Getting to Karon or Kata Beach also takes around 30 minutes, so transportation is quite convenient. What's more, the area feels very lively. The Layan Night Market (open Fridays and Saturdays) is right next door, just a 10-minute walk away. It's incredibly convenient for an evening stroll and trying local street food, so you don't necessarily have to dine at the hotel. That's a huge plus!
