Honestly, staying at this hotel for my first time in Beijing truly broadened my horizons and changed my perception of the city.
My wife, our child, and I came to Beijing for the May Day holiday. She said since we're here, we might as well splurge and experience a traditional Beijing courtyard.
It truly delivered a top-tier luxury experience. The room layout was excellent, the courtyard views were charming, the service was impeccable, and the location was superb with an abundance of food delivery options. Breakfast was all made-to-order. The only thing we missed out on was the bar and hotel activities, but there's always next time.
I do have two minor points of discomfort to share, just for reference:
1. When our taxi pulled up to the hotel entrance, a staff member immediately asked me what I was doing there. I was a bit taken aback at first, then explained I was checking in. I'm not blaming him; perhaps I was dressed too casually, but it did feel a little off-putting.
2. On our last day, breakfast felt less crowded, but the food service was incredibly slow. We went at 10 AM, thinking half an hour would be plenty for breakfast, especially since the day before our food arrived in about 15 minutes. This time, we waited half an hour just for the dishes to arrive.
Overall, it was absolutely wonderful, and I'd definitely go back if I get the chance. It left a lasting impression, and thinking about it now still brings back such lovely memories, especially sitting in the courtyard at night, listening to music and watching the stars 💫

Facilities: As one of China's newly established luxury hotels in recent years, the facilities are undoubtedly top-notch and of the highest quality. The 42 independent courtyards scattered throughout the grounds also seamlessly blend with Beijing's unique characteristics.
Hygiene: Everything is very clean. However, as a courtyard house in a hutong, it's inevitable to have some mosquitoes and bugs, especially in this kind of weather.
Service: This is the best service in China's hotel industry, bar none. I was even given a fan 🪭 as a gift, which I really appreciate.
Overall: The location, service, and hardware facilities certainly live up to its reputation as 'China's best entry-level room.' I would definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Beijing in a better season. See you in autumn!

Our stay at the Bvlgari Hotel was truly exceptional. The entire decor is light luxury and high-end, with every detail meticulously crafted. The hotel environment is remarkably quiet, creating a serene and comfortable atmosphere that's both luxurious and elegant. It truly helped us unwind and relax.
We specifically brought our child here to celebrate their 21st birthday, and we're especially grateful to our dedicated butler, Lisa! [grinning face] She's not only gentle and elegant in appearance but also incredibly kind. Her service was attentive and thorough throughout our stay. She patiently and meticulously answered all our questions, handling everything efficiently and swiftly. Daily room service and various impromptu requests were always handled promptly and properly, requiring no effort or worry on our part. Not only could we enjoy breakfast in our room each morning, but in the evenings, she would check in on our experience and even prepare snacks, making us feel right at home. The most heartwarming gesture was the exquisite small gift she specially prepared for our child, who was both surprised and delighted. As parents, we were deeply touched and moved. [strong][strong][strong]
The hotel's overall cleanliness was impeccable. The toiletries were excellent, and the toothpaste was our preferred Marvis brand, though the toothbrush was a bit harsh. Every corner was spotless, and a big shout-out to the cleaning staff [strong] who even helped mend our child's dress. All other amenities were complete and well-arranged for comfort. The only minor drawback was the slight aging and wear on the room's floor and carpet.
Overall, the entire stay deserves a perfect score. Butler Lisa's service was so attentive and flawless that we couldn't find a single fault. We hope Bvlgari can hire more dedicated and thoughtful staff like Lisa! [clapping hands] We were extremely satisfied with the overall experience and will definitely choose Bvlgari again on our next visit. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone! [strong]

A really great experience! The spa pool changing rooms are fully equipped with a dry sauna, steam room, and multi-function showers. The desserts provided in the room were delicious and not too sweet, which was a nice touch. I had requested a mattress change in advance, and there were various pillow options available, with silk duvets also provided. The toiletries were excellent; I even took a few extra sets when I left.
Enjoy a complimentary one-time refill of soft drinks and beer from the minibar during your stay: They even refilled it the next morning, which was a pleasant surprise.
24-hour breakfast: This is subjective; while the service is 24/7, the food isn't particularly amazing.
The service was also very warm and welcoming. Overall, it's definitely worth experiencing!

Overall, it's pretty good. The scenery is nice, and it's quiet and private – a great place to relax.
However, there are a few downsides:
1. There's no desk in the room for working, and the power outlets are far away with no extension cord.
2. I wanted to switch rooms, but the butler took a very long time to confirm and disappeared for a while, causing me to miss the sunset (such a shame!).
3. For breakfast, there was only one server who seemed overwhelmed. The breakfast itself wasn't great; the salmon ran out and wasn't refilled.
4. I asked a staff member to make coffee, but it just came out as plain hot water, which was a bit frustrating.
5. The minibar has noticeably shrunk compared to before, with just a few Cokes and Sprites, which is a bit disappointing. I guess the hotel might be struggling financially.

Great village style hotel nestled in an old village. Great eye to details and clean rooms and good service. Breakfast is until 13:30 noon time which is great, however could over a couple of more choices. Happy hour in the bar from 16:00-24:00 provided free drinks which I have never seen and is a great feature. Make sure to go in summer for enjoying the outdoor pool or in winter to enjoy snow. I would recommend to book a room with outdoor hot bath.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, surrounded by luxury shops, making it very convenient to get around.
The Mandarin Oriental's attention to detail is superb. The understated luxury and 'old money' vibe are precisely my style. The vanity room is spacious, and they prepared welcome fruits and snacks, a bottle of red wine, and even pear soup, along with a beautifully written welcome letter. It truly made me feel right at home.
Breakfast is a mix of buffet and à la carte, with fresh, organic ingredients and amazing flavors. I even had breakfast alongside the Russian ambassador at the next table! Sipping a coffee with a Forbidden City latte art design on the large terrace overlooking the Forbidden City, I truly experienced a taste of royal life. So happy! 😃

Checked into the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, and the overall quality is impeccable. The rooms are clean and quiet, with all the necessary amenities. Special shout-out to Lina and Avery for their professional and friendly service; they made the entire experience excellent. The hotel's location is superb, making travel convenient, and the service truly reflects a high-end hotel. It was a very comfortable stay, and I sincerely recommend it to anyone traveling.

Even though it's no longer affiliated with a top-tier luxury brand, it's still worth a stay. The hotel itself is part of the Summer Palace's imperial gardens, which we specifically explored at night. The gardens are an intricate maze of carved balustrades, jade-like structures, and winding corridors, where time itself seems to shape the space. While the bustling crowds are just outside the walls, hotel guests have private, unlimited access to the Summer Palace through a special entrance, though a staff member needs to open the gate each time.
Afternoon tea is served by a small pond, shaded by weeping willows and surrounded by blooming flowers – perfect for a lingering late spring afternoon. While the setting is dreamy, the pastries were generally a bit too sweet for my liking. The breakfast restaurant, adorned with a 'Royal Cuisine' plaque, offers a semi-buffet. Emperors of old might not have enjoyed the variety and quality available today! The hot food selection includes both Chinese and Western options; while it might not be as bustling as other hotel breakfasts, the quality is excellent and the service impeccable.
Our room was upgraded to a suite with a thoughtfully designed layout. The bedding was luxurious and the pillows incredibly comfortable. The nine-compartment box filled with snacks was a delightful touch. Toiletries are presented in ceramic gourds, giving them the appearance of ancient elixirs. However, these ceramic bottles for shampoo and shower gel are a bit impractical; they're slippery and made me nervous about dropping and breaking them, and the conditioner was difficult to squeeze out. This could definitely be improved. We had to rush off, so we didn't get to experience many of the amenities, leaving us a good reason to return.

First of all, Jason at the front desk is very helpful and thoughtful. Not to mention the rest of the hotel staff were also friendly and helpful yet leaving you great space of privacy. We were very well taken care of.
We stayed in the courtyard suite which is lovely. It feels magical to stay at such a historical place.
Breakfast is not in buffet style but the selections offered are good enough especially the Chinese style breakfast. We also enjoyed the champagne and cold cuts platter.
Thrilled to find out the spa service operate until 11pm, which we can go to sleep straight after the massage after dinner.
On the other hand, the private access entrance to the summer palace is a plus point. As we don’t need to go through the usual public entrance that is full of people.
The complimentary traditional costume photoshoot was surprisingly good. The quality of the costumes and make up are easily comparable ( or better than) to the paid one offer outside.
Overall, we had a really good time throughout the stay where we were able to experience the tranquility and elegance of the Summer Palace. The team at Summer Palace Hotel done a good job!

The room was very clean and the service was attentive. A high percentage of guests at The Peninsula are foreigners, and the staff's English proficiency was excellent.
Special thanks to Leo Guan from the front office, who provided very detailed and thoughtful instructions.
The breakfast was very rich; the semi-buffet menu was truly fantastic, and everything was delicious. Specialties included Laksa, steak, beef noodles, and banana coconut smoothie. During the Dragon Boat Festival, zongzi (rice dumplings) were also prepared, and I found some delivered to my room when I returned.
The hotel's location is also great, making it convenient to get anywhere.
A wonderful experience!

The service was incredibly responsive, and the breakfast was fantastic, especially the egg dishes. The room's central control system was very high-tech. The hotel also offered a wide array of services.
I stayed in a two-story suite this time. There was an excellent selection of pillows, and the mattress firmness was perfect for Chinese preferences.
The rooftop bar on the 14th floor offers stunning sunset views. On a clear day, sitting there and watching the sunset brings a wonderful sense of peace.

Overall, I'm very satisfied and give it full marks. I'll definitely come again next time.
I thought the room facilities might be a bit old, given that the hotel has been open for many years, but to my surprise, they were very well-maintained. The stay experience was comfortable, and it felt like the renovation was only about five years ago. A great experience.
In terms of service, the front desk was very helpful. Lin Yunbei assisted with a room change on the day, and I found a satisfactory room. Ms. Xiao also provided assistance. The other housekeeping and spa services were also good.
Regarding the food, the Rosewood offerings are limited in variety but exquisite, like 'less is more.' If you stay for three to five days, you probably won't get tired of it. The overall quality and experience are also good.
I also bumped into a sports celebrity, which was quite a pleasant surprise, haha!

Beijing Rosewood Hotel Review (Family Trip - Full Version)
Our recent stay at the Rosewood Beijing with our child exceeded our expectations. Grace from the Guest Relations team was incredibly thoughtful, meticulously inquiring about our party and our needs. She even upgraded our room to one with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the CBD skyline.
The staff provided delicate and gentle service; they proactively helped with our luggage, and the turndown service was a nice touch. Our butler was also very responsive. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Beijing.

Four years later, I'm back to experience the Waldorf Astoria's Steiff Enchanted Forest themed suite! Last time I stayed in a terrace suite, and while this one is a bit smaller, it's still full of childlike wonder. From check-in, every staff member was incredibly proactive and enthusiastic, especially Chloe and Willow, who were exceptionally thoughtful and attentive. The delivery of desserts and the welcome bear visit times were all arranged in advance. The room also came with a cute bear bag and a teddy bear toy 🧸. Last time we were here for our wedding anniversary, and this time for a birthday – the hotel really excels at making special occasions memorable. Although the room isn't huge, it's fully equipped with all the amenities, including two bathrooms and a super spacious bathtub.

A rare perfect stay, truly a luxurious five-star hotel. The doorman proactively helped with luggage, and the front desk was efficient, gentle, and attentive, thoughtfully preparing the room in advance according to my check-in requests. The guest room decor was elegantly luxurious with fantastic natural light and views. The bathroom fixtures were high-end, and the toiletries were of superior quality. The hotel facilities were comprehensive, and the leisure areas were quiet and elegant. The entire staff provided professional and considerate service, especially private concierges Chloe and Willow, who were not overly formal but incredibly thorough. It's exceptionally suitable for both business trips and leisure vacations, offering excellent value for money and service. Highly recommended!

## A Secluded Beijing Escape Immersed in Oriental Aesthetics – A Two-Day Stay at The PuXuan Hotel and Spa
Nestled at the intersection of Wangfujing and Wusi Avenues, The PuXuan Hotel and Spa stands as a 'floating glass box' atop the Guardian Art Center. Designed by German architect Ole Scheeren, its exterior features grey basalt, echoing the textures of old Beijing's hutongs. The transparent glass brick walls above subtly evoke the landscape imagery of the *Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains* painting, shifting with the light and shadows. Without a grand marquee, it speaks to the city with minimalist geometric language, so discreet you might almost miss it, yet so stately it leaves an unforgettable impression.
Stepping into the hotel, an elevator ride to the fourth-floor lobby reveals an expansive, breathtaking space. The high ceilings exude grandeur, while natural wood, terrazzo, and stone interweave to create a warm, refined ambiance. A central water garden in the lobby, complemented by swaying bamboo, forms a picturesque scene. Paintings by Qiu Deshu and handcrafted furniture from Hermès' 'Shang Xia' brand are thoughtfully placed throughout. There are no extravagant crystal chandeliers; instead, warm lighting and a pervasive tea aroma create a sophisticated atmosphere that's understated yet meticulously considered.
However, the hotel's true enchantment lies in its Sky Garden. Walking into the fifth-floor garden, one is instantly transported from bustling Beijing to a spring day in a Jiangnan water town. Hidden by bamboo and lush greenery, it offers a serene escape from the city's noise. Casually sitting, you can gaze upon the tranquil silhouette of Wanchun Pavilion in Jingshan Park. As light filters through the bamboo and leaves rustle in the breeze, you truly grasp the essence of 'great reclusion within the city.'
Though my two-day stay was brief, it was enough to fully immerse myself in this understated and refined celebration of Eastern aesthetics. The PuXuan isn't a hotel that immediately dazzles; it's more like aged Pu-erh tea – the more you experience it, the deeper its flavor. It infuses Chinese aesthetics into every corner, and beneath its restrained luxury lies a profound understanding of Beijing's heritage and contemporary life. If you're seeking a place to truly find tranquility in the heart of the bustling city, The PuXuan is your answer.
- TINECOL
Chose The PuXuan when visiting Beijing, and the biggest impression was how effortlessly convenient it made my trip. The location is absolutely fantastic – just a short walk from the Forbidden City's Donghuamen Gate and Jingshan Park, directly opposite the National Art Museum of China, and with a subway station right downstairs, making it easy to get anywhere. The hotel itself is also very quiet; no matter how noisy it gets outside, the rooms remain perfectly peaceful. The room amenities are excellent: a Loewe TV, 'Shang Xia' furniture from Hermès, and a full set of Guerlain toiletries. The bathroom even has a deep soaking tub, which was incredibly relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast is served at The Left Bank restaurant on the second floor, a semi-buffet with à la carte options; both the Eggs Benedict and beef noodles were delicious. The service is highly efficient; check-in was very quick, and any requests were promptly attended to. All in all, it was a supremely comfortable stay, and I'll definitely be back.

A butler was waiting for us while we parked, showing exceptional service. Upon checking in at the lobby, we were offered complimentary snacks and drinks. To my delight, they upgraded our room for free, allowing for a better view of Yanqi Lake. The room table had fruit and wine, and the butler had even prepared aromatherapy. Surprisingly, the bathroom floor was also thoughtfully equipped with a non-slip mat. The butler also brought our luggage to our room, and to my surprise, given the slightly chilly temperature, they even brought down a warm coat from the car – incredibly considerate! We had initially mentioned needing to get our luggage, but only remembered when they went to retrieve it, and then they thoughtfully brought us the warm coat! We also participated in an afternoon cultural tour, which provided a deeper understanding of the hotel's design style and philosophy. The food was excellent, and the hotel facilities, cleanliness, and environment were superb! Not to mention the butler's service – it was exceptional! I highly recommend this hotel to families visiting Yanqi Lake. If we go again in the future, we will definitely choose Yanbai Mountain Villa again!
- xxxxmmmmy
The hotel boasts stunning views of Yanqi Lake, especially from the lakeview rooms, which offer unparalleled views. The rooms are well-equipped, the bedding is comfortable, and the stay was excellent. The staff was friendly and professional, and their response was quick, from check-in instructions to daily needs. I particularly enjoyed the hotel's cultural experience—the tea-making ceremony was full of atmosphere, with its lingering fragrance and expertly executed techniques, allowing for an immersive experience of Chinese aesthetics. Overall, the Yanbai Hotel not only boasts top-notch hardware, but also impresses with its attention to detail and service. I'd definitely return if I had the chance.
