Waterford|1.32km from downtownThere was a fire in my building, and I was displaced for almost two months. I moved into the Baymont on August 17, 2020 and was being charged 79.99/night. From August 29 to September 12th, the charge increased to $107/night which is quite an increase, especially when no breakfast was offered. Then my insurance company called the hotel and made a reservation for me from September 12th through 30th, and I was sent a confirmation of this reservation in an email. Later that evening, my insurance company called me to tell me that the manager of the hotel called State Farm to inform them that the confirmed reservation rate was not correct, and instead of $107/night, the rate was increased yet again to $159.99/night. The hotel management knew that I was covered by insurance, and I feel that hotel management was trying to defraud my insurance company. I decided to not pay the exorbitant $159.99/night and to move out of the hotel. When I checked out, the desk clerk, Prahful, showed me on my receipt that the rate was still only $107/night, which I believe management changed to “prove” to me they were honoring the $107 rate. My insurance company had no reason to lie to me. When I first moved in to the hotel, Kush, the manager told me, “The insurance company doesn’t care what the rate is. They will pay anything.” I said to him, “No, they do not care, but I do, because these are my benefits, and there is a ceiling to my benefits, and once I reach that ceiling, I will have nowhere to live.” One would think he would have remembered that conversation and not attempt to defraud me and my insurance company! During my stay, I had my dog and my cat. My dog rarely barks, but he did bark once. Prahful, a desk clerk, threatened to make me move out of the hotel if my dog continued to bark. My dog is very well behaved, but I was afraid I wouldn’t have anywhere to live, so I was compelled to take my ESA dog to a dog-sitter for the remainder of my displacement. It has been very difficult to be without my ESA dog during this very difficult time. What’s worse, my neighbor at the hotel’s dog barked all the time. I spoke with her, and she was not threatened with displacement. She is also a victim of my apartment fire. Once, I went to Kush, and asked him for a receipt of my hotel stay. He was extremely rude to me, saying, “Go away! I’m very busy! Come back later!” I have never in my entire life been treated so poorly at a hotel! I stayed at this hotel over one month, and Kush, nor Prahful, never once reminded me that I could earn Whyndom frequent stay points for my stay. Absolutely the POOREST customer service I have ever received. I am telling everyone I know about the fraudulent management at this hotel. They have no business being in any profession where top customer service is paramount. I will NEVER AGAIN stay at the Baymont Inn & Suites in Waterford, WI!I am telling everyone I know how terribly the business is being ran.
