Very nice hotel in Albi, in a beautiful building by the river. Hotel restaurant had a great view of the cathedral. Best place to stay in Albi without hesitating.

The setting of this hotel is superb, on the banks of the river overlooking the old town of Albi. Our room was at the side of the hotel, it was quite small, no safe, but plenty of hanging space for your clothes and a kettle if can figure out how it works ! We had to ask reception … only complaint the door stop was in a very awkward spot and my husband badly bruised his toe on it ! Breakfast was good, plenty of choice & if the weather is fine you can sit on the outside terrace. Perhaps the hotel could do with a makeover some parts looked very tired but a we had a very pleasant stay.
Response from Property: Thank you for your stay and sharing your satisfaction. It is correct that the location remains beautiful. The whole team works every day to improve the service and experience. Thank you and listen to you. Renaud - Manager

This hotel is top notch for it location, views and service. There's a very nice terrace dining area with terrific views (weather permitting) as well as a popular inviting lobby bar. At first, we had a quite small room (#302) with a partial view of the river/bridges but they upgraded us to a fantastic large corner room ($310) with windows on two sides that could even open. From there, the vistas of the beautiful Old Town of Albi plus the river, three different bridges and the Cathedral were simply great. Hotel had a very nice diverse breakfast (extra). It seemed the best option as nothing too much right nearby. Dinner meals were more mundane and somwhat repetitive menu. OK if too tired to go out for dinner but it was really quite a close walk across the river to where an abundance of nice restaurants were (near the unusual huge old brick cathedral). The address our GPS sent us to couldn't access the hotel and we went around in a few frustrating circles untile we found the parking entrance on a different street. Parking lot is inconvenient for dropped luggage so drive to the end and down a level to drop bags. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely staff. But very smelly hotel. Carpets need a cleaning perhaps? I think a rodent died in the wall of my room. But enormous windows opened onto the river so I powered through it. Restaurant was not worth the $$.

Very nice hotel with brilliant with views along the Tarn in a amazing building. The hotel is in a great location just over the bridge to the centre of town. Big car park and free bus service outside. The restaurant has great views. Big breakfast and lovely terrace. We upgraded our room to have a view of the Tarn. It was well equipped and great AC. The reception could not have been more helpful. He was brilliant and very knowledgeable. The breakfast staff and cleaners were really good. The bar staff were a bit slow in serving drinks on the terrace and didn’t have cold Rose on a very hot day. It was my only issue with a great hotel.

We have stayed in this hotel several times and it never disappoints. Rooms aren't massive, but they're clean and comfortable. River views are stunning! The hotel restaurant is amazing - delicious food in a wonderful setting with service that is second to none. Sit on the terrace to really appreciate the views. We will definitely be back.

We stayed four nights in a privilege room on the 3rd floor, facing the river. Agree with the reviews that talk about the view, the plentiful free parking, the friendly staff. The hotel also provides free fresh water and restocked our refrigerator with complimentary sodas as required. You can board a free shuttle bus (Navette) outside the hotel to the other side of the river, although the town centre is very close. There is a local farmers' market on Saturday mornings just up the street. Also several good patisseries. Our room was quite small but we had the option to spend down time on the terrace, listening to the river rushing over the dam. And the views of the Cathedral and city skyline are lovely during the day and lit up at night. We found the restaurant very convenient and ate our breakfast and dinner there every day. The food was good but the set menu didn't offer much variety or choice. Comfortable bed and good quality linens and towels. We would stay here again.

If we ever return to Albi we will definitely stay at the Mercure again. Firstly, the location is superb, just over the bridge from the old town and with incredible views from the terrace and the restaurant. Secondly, the staff are friendly and helpful - they accommodated an early check-in without any problem and service in the bar and restaurant was superb. Finally, the open air car park at the back of the hotel was so easy to access and free to use. The room was nice enough with a big comfortable bed, ample storage and a mini fridge. The only thing we didn't like was the cramped bathroom and the see through glass door - very odd!

Had a great nights stay in Albi Mercure, the highlight being the incredible location. Right on the river with incredible views from the main floor with a balcony and a lovely garden. Beds were comfortable although small, had everything we needed. Great staff at reception and in the bar.

I started to caption this review "Business Class", but that connotes perhaps a bit more luxury and privilege than you are apt to find here. But in the sense that you get full value and some extras, the hotel deserves a five star rating. Yes, the rooms (other than "Privilege") are a bit cramped, but great care has been taken to give you your money's worth. We just came from a 5 star luxury resort, and the contrast is significant; but it is good to temper the cost of our trip with a more reasonable tariff. The bathroom is quite small, but the lighting is excellent, albeit fluorescent, the shower is cramped, but works fine, a comfortable bed, decent sized television, plenty of electrical connections, a small, but adequate closet. The hotel's main advantages are that it is on the quieter side of the town, but with a very large parking lot, stunning river views, a respectable restaurant with a better than average breakfast all at a fair price. Mercure/Accor have plenty of experience in running a wide range of hotels and price points. They compare favorably to American behemoths like Marriott and Hilton but with a bit of Gallic flavor. This is a splendid place to stay to enjoy the historic and pleasant city of Albi. For us Anglophones, it is great to have BBC and CNN on the television.

The situation of this hotel is absolutely fantastic, with an awesome view on the Tarn and the Cathedral while you eat your breakfast in the morning, great way to start a day ! Perfect service, very clean. I come back several times a year, and it started almost 30 years ago.
