Excellent! This was my first time booking and staying at a Marriott hotel on my own. The front desk was very friendly and upgraded me to an Executive Suite, which I've heard is difficult to get upgraded to. The suite was huge and very comfortable, and the service was impeccable.

Just remember not to wear your hotel slippers to breakfast!

From the bathroom/room, you could see the 'Three-piece set' (referring to the iconic Shanghai skyscrapers) and one of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower's spheres. It's a shame it got foggy at night and I couldn't see them anymore – the 'Three-piece set' was cut off at the waist, and the Oriental Pearl vanished.

The hotel breakfast was quite good, with everything you'd expect. I didn't see any xiaolongbao (I was hoping to try some as an out-of-towner), but the pastries and desserts were very well made, similar to many brunch places (at least comparable to what you'd find in Melbourne).

Unfortunately, this was just a one-night stay before catching a flight. I chose this hotel after looking at location, newness/renovation, and service atmosphere, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I wonder if I'll be so lucky when I return to Shanghai in a few days. I'm definitely planning to stay here again!

The hotel's location is superb, truly one of Shanghai's landmark buildings – prominent and unique. Transportation here is incredibly convenient. I don't even need to elaborate on how upscale and luxurious the hotel is. The service is excellent! Another reason I simply have to recommend it is that directly across the pedestrian walkway from the hotel entrance is the famous, beautiful, and highly worthwhile Shanghai History Museum! It turns out the grand staircases found in modern architectural marvels like libraries and art museums today originated at the Shanghai History Museum.

This Dragon Boat Festival, I brought my family, including elders and children, and booked two rooms for three days and two nights. I was really impressed by the excellent service quality. The breakfast had a rich variety of options, and the rooms were spotless. All the staff were incredibly warm and polite. The hotel environment is also fantastic; the pool is super comfortable and clean, and there are even kayaks available to use. They also rent out bicycles and electric bikes, which you can use to cycle around the hotel's central lake. All in all, this hotel offers top-notch quality for its price range. I'll definitely be back if I have the chance!

I specifically came here to celebrate my birthday. I communicated with the hotel in advance about wanting the room decorated, and the staff were incredibly thoughtful. They helped set up the room with a wonderful ambiance beforehand and even surprised me with a delicate little cake! It was an absolute delight. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and all the facilities were complete and worked perfectly. The guest service by Lumina was gentle and attentive, handling everything very efficiently. It's a quiet and peaceful place, perfect for a romantic getaway, and the location is convenient for getting around and dining. This birthday experience far exceeded my expectations; it was romantic and hassle-free. It's my top choice for couples, and I'll definitely be back for future special occasions. Highly recommended!

A special shout-out to our housekeeper, Cassie, whose professionalism was outstanding! She proactively reached out regarding our check-in, providing clear instructions and guiding us through the process upon arrival. Any last-minute requests were handled promptly and efficiently. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and her service was meticulous. With Cassie taking care of everything, we didn't have to worry about a thing during our vacation. The experience was excellent, highly recommended!

Very luxurious hotel. Variety and delicious breakfast buffet. Well trained staffers. Only one thing I didn’t like was door man. When I needed taxi he introduced unlicensed private driver and car which had been waiting on the road. He called 50AED(triple times over regular fee. This staff needed more training or he would ruin this wonderful hotel’s reputation.

One of the amazing stays I made in Dubai, I actually celebrated my husband’s birthday along with my business trip, I requested the hotel for special arrangements and I am really grateful for their support and nice arrangements.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay and for sure I will recommend this hotel for all: as the hotel is luxury, JW kitchen’s food is so delicious, the location is amazing next to one of the best malls in Dubai, connected to Dubai Marina where you can find a number or restaurants and cafes and you will also be able to take a boat/ yacht trips.
Thanks to all the staff at the hotel as all were friendly and respectful.
