Stunning hotel. Cute and cozy and fits with the vibe of Carmel. The check in process was easy and quick. We were given recommendations on where to eat and explore which was nice and helpful. We had a lovely time there and I would definitely stay again.

Host was gracious and helpful in every respect. Great location. Clean, well appointed room. Good value.

Very safe area and close to amenities. Mattresses and pillows did not provide too much comfort.

Great location in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Only a few blocks from the ocean. Near shops and very nice restaurants. Very easy check-in and check-out. Friendly staff.

Wonderful location and welcome, but our room was very dated and the fridge had a very noisy compressor. Glad we had a sound machine! Very nice breakfast delivered in a basket each morning, but the hole in the apple was a bummer. Also, the WiFi was non existent in our room and was not resolved during our two night stay.

We chose the Monte Verde Inn for price, location, and the good reviews it had. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly desk agent who gave us good advice on parking and local restaurants. We were offered an upgrade from our queen bed to a king with an additional charge which we declined. We were then taken to our room at “Monte Verde East”. This is directly across the street from the primary location. The room we were given was very dated and in need of remodel / upgrades. The furnishings were all painted but covered in chips and scratches. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been worked on in decades. In fact, the receptacle at the bathroom sink (non-GFCI) was so old that I had to hold the plug for my wife to use her curling iron because it kept falling out. The bed was moderately comfortable but the pillows were paper thin. It was a warm night and there’s no AC. We tried leaving the windows open but you heard a lot of road noise and people outside. Closing them didn’t help much either. We should’ve known when the bathroom had two sets of earplugs!?!? The pipes were very loud whenever someone turned on the water. In the morning, someone knocked on our door and yelled “Breakfast!” Despite the Do Not Disturb sign on our door. It wouldn’t have mattered though because we could hear them at every single door in the building. The breakfast basket seemed great until we discovered that the yogurt was ELEVEN DAYS EXPIRED. Next time we’ll pay a little more for a better hotel.

Staff was very friendly and location was perfect. Accommodations were small and a little outdated but quaint. Great Stay.

You cannot beat Monte Verde's location!! I knew that coming in, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived about the service - cute little breakfast delivery every morning, really friendly, helpful staff. In addition the rooms were clean and updated (especially compared to some other older properties in the area).

The check-in process was easy. The clerk was very nice and even brought us ice. The location was really convenient to all the shops and restaurants. I loved how a basket of breakfast goodies was delivered every morning to our door and the inn is pet friendly. The bed wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked and it was somewhat noisy in the morning. Still, we had a great time.
