Really love the hotel. Very suitable for traveller. There is kitchen for cooking with complete all the aminities. They also provide space to hang out with friends and family. Very near as in 15-20 minutes away from the hotel.

Excellent location to explore Christchurch attractions. Very clean and well appointed room for an excellent price (I was wondering what It may be getting into). The room quality was a 3+ star for US standards. The only negative is the lack of parking (only offstreet parking or may have to drive a block away for parking). The clean room, friendly staff and excellent location and the overall niceness of Christchurch and it's people in general made us quickly get over the initial stress of trying to find a place to park. Thank you Sameera!

DATE OF TRAVEL: July 2023 Stayed here for 10 days on a business trip. Room and bathroom was great but the beds are awful. They are not attached to a bed head and are an ensemble base only so they move around. I had a better sleep in a motel in Timaru, which is a shame because working 10 hour days, staying in a 5* hotel, one would think you'd sleep like a baby. Fortunately the shower's high pressure and the bath were great, Apart from that, the hotel grounds is beautiful with ample parking. My room had a veranda which I liked to sit on and watch the traffic go by. I had requested a microwave so as to meal prep due to my diabetes and this was in there prior to check in which was great. Hotel is just around the corner from a heap of restaurants and Westfield Ricccarton and right next to Hagley Park which was great for a morning walk. In room dining was fine, nothing special. I tried the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the Saturday and it was lacklastre. Didn't end up going back. Plenty of cafes around anyway. All up, I rate my stay there 4*. The facilities were great, the requests were met eagerly and the bathroom was fantastic. The room itself is really well appointed but the bed is awful which detracts a star. I'd stay there again with my wife though, maybe bring some *****s to attach to the bed legs to stop them from moving around though!

My room was not cleaned up despite me putting up a door notice for housekeeping for the day. When I returned to my room in the evening, I was told to my surprise that my booking did not include housekeeping. The website of Breakfree at Cashel mentioned housekeeping is available. I was not informed that my booking omitted this service. Furthermore, I was told to collect new towels by myself at the counter. I just don't feel the hotel is not up to the mark in this aspect.
Other things I am not quite happy about is that the room space is too small for easy packing and unpacking of my luggage but I suppose I get what I paid for, which is ok.
I have decided to move to other hotel for the rest of my journey in Christchurch for the above reasons

The Ibis Christchurch has a cute boutique feel to it. Security is great as the front door locks at 10 pm and you use your room key to get in. My room had a fridge, kettle, walled toiletries, and a/c (hurray!). For some reason I got an accessible room on different floors on both hotel stays. The bathroom is huge, but I can’t see a wheelchair in the bedroom section as it was a bit tight near the bed. The bed was comfortable & the room was clean. Breakfast was the usual fare of hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, baked goods, cereal, fruits & juices. I love the coffee machine. Our tour had dinner at the hotel that consisted of fruit salad, minestrone soup, chicken in mushroom sauce, baked ziti, and veggies which were decent. I am not sure if the restaurant is usually open for dinner and what their menu consist of. The staff during breakfast was friendly and attentive. Location of the hotel is perfect as it is near everything, especially Riverside Market. There is a mini mart & souvenir shop next door, as well as a little metro supermarket 5 minutes away on Lichfield Street.

1. This is a B&B hotel. Unlike the general hotel, the owner of the store, the two partners, take care of the hotel in person, and make the guests feel like they are at home. Especially the breakfast is sitting around a rectangular table, the owner is baking bread for everyone, tea or coffee. Although everyone did not know each other, they soon became familiar with it, chatting and chatting, chatting about the places they visited and sharing experiences. The atmosphere is very good and I like it very much. 2. There is a Malay Chinese in the host, very young, very enthusiastic and talkative. Chinese tourists will be more convenient. 3. The hotel is in a good location, about 15 minutes walking distance to the city center. It is convenient to visit the main attractions in the city. 4. The fly in the ointment is that because it is an old house, the room layout is limited, the room is relatively small, and may not be used to Chinese tourists who are used to big houses. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests).
But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier.
Mr. ************, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review!
He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry.
Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like *****s and being forgetful on our own properties.

Because it is a park-style hotel, it is not in the city center, but it is good in the environment, quiet and quiet, and cost-effective. A few minutes drive to the supermarket, it is recommended to cook. Some rooms do not have separate washrooms, the common kitchen and washroom are close to the room, and the kitchen has a frying pan and more electric stoves. More suitable for taking children.

Late arrival (after midnight) so enquired as to a later check-out. Despite paying full-price for a room that we only used for less than 11hrs they couldn't (wouldn't?) offer us a late check-out without paying a required fee which passed on. Breakfast also expensive at $35 per person (inc. children) so we missed out this. Room clean with expected amenities although a bit nosey in the morning as we were on the ground floor and there were a group of people chatting loudly outside of the room. Bed nice and comfy though, shower water power disappointing. Customer service on check-in wasn't overly welcoming but the female staff member who we checked out with was informative.
